10 Fundamental aims of DPTI increase the coherence and the internal collaborations within Delft PT- community, both in research and education create optimal conditions for every PT-scientist at Delft to develop his/her talents and to realize his/her personal scientific ambitions drive the education of excellent engineers and scientists in the area of PT from BSc through MSc to Process Designer and PhD improve the international visibility and impact of TU Delft in the field of Process Technology to such a degree that it is ranked in the world s top 10 within the next 10 years increase the relevance for and collaboration with the industry in terms of education and research ensure a sustained financial health of Process Technology at TU Delft by creating a better access to the research funding; intensify constructive collaborations with other universities, research organizations and industry in NL and abroad 10

14 Education expansion of job markets for chemical & process engineers beyond the traditional chemical process industries increased diversity of expectations with regard to the skills of our graduates (from basic design of distillation column to thin layer technology or product formulation) new educational models are needed we want to give our graduates solid knowledge of fundamentals together with broad insights into the newest developments 14
