3 Introduction I am a freelance web designer and web developer based in Cape Town. I provide a wide range of services used throughout the web development process which I feel allows for a great hands-on feel of the development cycle of a website. Web Design and User Experience I am to create beautiful interfaces that assist the user in reaching their ultimate goal as soon as possible. My focus is on clean, modern and minimalist web design, with the intention of always keeping the users attention on the product or service the website offers. Backend and Frontend Web Development After an appropriate design has been created, the next stage is to transform the design into a fully functioning website. I utilise technologies that allow me to both build the system as well as style the appearance of it based on the drafted design. With this set of tools I aim to create a technological solution that supports your business procedure. I aim to provide systems that are enjoyable for end consumers, but also support the business process. The NYX Cosmetics Online Store Following our meeting I feel I have a sense of the requirements that you have for your online store. The creation of an online store is quite a complex process and goes far beyond successfully launching it to the public with the necessary technologies. I got a sense from our discussion that the functionality provided by the more off-the-shelf solutions (such as would not cover the necessary business operations of NYX Cosmetics SA. My personal experience lies in Magento ( an exceptionally powerful ecommerce platform. It allows for a vast amount of extendability (For example, Auction) and customisation. If there is something you d like to do with your online store, it is very likely that Magento will cover your needs. Magento Magento allows you to customise it to match your branding precisely as well as allow for advanced catalogue management. It allows for product functionality such as bundles products (groups of products) and configurable products (Choose by color/size), and much much more. Magento offers an Open Source version of there software that is free to use and supported by a large community. The cost of development is due to the design and customisation of the software package. 4 Admin: Store: Additional Technologies Employed PayFast PayFast acts as your payment processor, allowing you as a merchant to collect payments from your customers. There are alternatives that may explored, PayFast have a great reputation and implement directly into Magento. SSL An SSL Certificate illustrates the level of security of your store. It adds an encryption layer to various parts of the website to protect a customer's information. There are various suppliers of these certificates, for example Domain + Hosting There are various hosts out there offering appropriate hosting. I suggest looking at Hetzner.co.za. By utilising the above proposed technologies, you shall have a fully functioning and scalable store for NYX Cosmetics.

5 Work Method To ensure that your ecommerce store is created in the correct manner and launched with all the appropriate technologies, I employ the following work method: Scope On initiation of the project I sit with the relevant people to figure out exactly what is needed for the website to operate in the desire manner. This is then documented in a Store Plan, allowing both parties to keep track of how the store should be setup and maintained. As your website is closely based off the NYX Cosmetics US site, no planning is needed regarding website structure as the product range shall be similar. A Contents Requirements Doc is delivered with the Store Plan outlining all the content needed for the website. Design With the website functionality and requirements outlined, I create a full set of design drafts. These are sent to your for your comment, and are then adjusted appropiately. As the NYX Cosmetics SA store shall follow a similar structure to its international counterparts, I won t create wireframes. These normally allow both parties to scope the necessary information needed for the site, but as it follows the international format it, these wireframes are not needed. Development On signing off of the designs, I proceed with the development of the website. This includes a full conversion of the design into a fully functioning ecommerce store. The necessary technologies for the store to operate are implemented during this stage. (Such as PayFast, SSL). On completion of the development of the store it shall have all functionality required to launch, fully tested and skinned. Review and Implementation With all the sites functionality in place, a full review is performed across various browsers and devices. This ensures that regardless of how a person accesses your online store, it shall still be easy to use.

6 Scope & Cost Estimate There are a set of clear deliverables that would be a result of this project. In summary: A full set of designs matching the specification. A fully functional Magento store, that works on desktops in all common browsers, and displays in an acceptable way on mobile screens. A complete order process and inventory management systems configured to suit your store's needs. The implementation of a payment gateway and other necessary technologies (such as SSL). The necessary documentation and training needed to maintain and operate the store. A full breakdown of this cost estimate is shown below. It is highly recommended to have a mobile site, but it can be the next step after completing the initial website. I have a feeling that there may be some additional requirements, such as a store locator, that shall come up as we scope out the site together. Client Deliverables In order for the design to be completed in the most effective manner possible, all copy and imagery required for the site needs to be presented on initiation of the design phase. This is facilitated by the initial scope and copy requirements that are drawn up on project initiation.

11 Payment Schedule On project initiation, a 40% deposit is required. Following this, you shall be invoiced on completion of each phase as outlined in the cost estimate above. Any outstanding payments not covered within the phases outlined above shall be due on project completion. The project is considered complete when the store is live and running for the public to use. There is a lot that has be take care of from both parties throughout the project, and sometimes things don t always go as planned. I do think that we provide a sufficient amount of time for adequate planning which shall result in a smooth execution of the project. I believe that the above schedule is feasible and should you choose to go forward with this project, I shall endeavour to keep as close it as possible.
