2 RESEARCH Research interests include gerontology, social support and relationships within the social networks, reciprocity, and Aging in Place initiatives pres 2015-pres Principal Investigator, Social Experiences in Assisted Living A qualitative study of friendships, negative interactions, and social environment of residents in an assisted living facility. Consists of semi-structured interviews with residents and employees and thematic analysis of transcripts. Co-investigator, A Problem Solving Tools Intervention for Postpartum Depression A mixed method study of motivational interviewing and problem solving depression in mothers with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders and symptoms of postpartum depression. PI: McClain Sampson Visiting Professional, Young Men s Affiliation Project of HIV Risk and Prevention Venues. At the University of Texas-School of Public Health, conducted interviews including collection of social network data, produced personalized social network analysis reports for participating venues, recruited new participants, participated in team meetings. 6 PROFESSIONAL WORK 2014 Social Work Intern, Jewish Family Service Coordinated all aspects of program development for Houston s first Aging in Place Village Social Work Intern, Greater Houston Area Health Education Center Designed and performed organizational assessment using social network analysis theory and methods. Developed community partnerships to implement behavioral health career education at Westbury High School. Used SPSS for assessment of Pathways Program participants and outcomes Founder and Director, Rocky Mountain Institute of Healing Arts Established and managed all aspects of massage therapy school. Supervised a staff of ten employees. Developed and administered budget and marketing plan. Responsible for all aspects of student development. Designed curricula and taught classes Human Resources Professional positions including Director of Human Resources, Compensation Analyst, and Employment Coordinator in various healthcare settings including a home health agency, medical school, and large medical center. Managed departmental staff, directed recruitment, employee relations, benefits and compensation programs, training, workers compensation and risk management, and orientation. Produced and managed departmental budget. Recruited new employees, brokered solutions for employee problems. Advised managers regarding employment law Claims Representative, Social Security Administration Took and adjudicated claims for Supplemental Security Income (SSI), provided assistance, made referrals for service, conducted eligibility reviews. Spoke at public outreach engagements to educate public on SSI, including HIV/AIDS related issues.
