Assumed overall responsibility for the administrative, counseling, educational, consultative, training and research activities of the center. Served as chief psychologist and provided clinical supervision for the professional staff, predoctoral intern, and doctoral-level practicum counselors, in their provision of counseling services and crisis intervention, assessment and management to both undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at the University. Established relationships with mental health professionals and services outside the University to facilitate the process of referral and/or consultation, when appropriate, to best meet the needs of students. Provided leadership and professional supervision for outreach programming and preventative/educational programming. Delivered individual, couples and group therapy to students. Course focused on exploring the bio-psycho-social events that shape the meaning of life in three critical stages: young adulthood, middle age and old age. Led year-long doctoral level seminar, Issues in Professional Practice, for 2nd and/or 3rd year Psy.D. students. Focused on enhancement of students clinical competencies through in-depth supervision of clinical work. Served as faculty advisor for students, monitoring their academic/clinical progress in the graduate program. Conducted qualifying examinations for doctoral candidacy. Provided short-term personal/social, academic and career counseling to a cross section of the student population of Texas A&M University, approximately 41,000 students; conducted assessment, diagnosis, case disposition, and emergency/crisis management and intervention; and delivered primary supervision to doctoral-level interns in an APA-accredited internship program. Coordinated the practicum training program: served as chair of the selection committee, oversaw the training and supervision of masters and doctoral-level graduate students in their practicum training experience with our counseling center.. 8/89 to COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGIST, INDEPENDENT PRACTICE, 8/92 Brazos Psychological Associates, 7607 Eastmark Drive, Suite 250, College Station, Texas. Delivered outpatient individual, couples and group psychotherapy with an emphasis on issues related to codependency and family-of-origin dysfunction. 8/88 to COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGIST AND COORDINATOR OF THE 8/90 PEER COUNSELING PROGRAM, Student Counseling Service, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas.
