Duane, III Graduate Fellowship is a full time (20 hours per week), one-year position that lasts from August 1 to May 31. The graduate fellow will report to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions and will assist the Office of Admissions with the recruitment of the Lehigh Class of Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Serve as project manager of the Lehigh V.I.E.W. program. Responsibilities include managing data for prospective students registering for the V.I.E.W. program; developing messaging and communication branding for V.I.E.W.; recruiting, training, and scheduling student volunteers to meet with prospective students during lunch; communicating with faculty and Associate Deans regarding appropriate class visitations; and serving as host for the day during the varying events. Conduct 45-minute information sessions about the Lehigh experience to prospective students and their families. Could include 2 to 3 Saturdays throughout the year. Conduct on-campus interviews when needed and complete write-ups highlighting the admissibility of prospective students. Respond to and phone inquiries from prospective students, parents, and school counselors. Assist admissions staff with office programs including Open Houses, Diversity Achievers Program, Lehigh Life Days, Candidates Day, Diversity Life Weekend, Legacy Weekend, and Admitted Student Receptions when needed. Qualifications: Possess a bachelor s degree and be enrolled in a Lehigh graduate program during the academic year, which does not exceed 9 credit hours Page 1
3 per semester in the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business & Economics, or the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science. E D U Position Descriptions: 1. Tutor Coordinator: The Tutor Coordinator GA is responsible for assisting the Center Director in coordinating the undergraduate peer tutoring program. Duties include: Assist with tutor recruitment, hiring, training and supervision Coordinate Center s group tutoring program and group sign-up process Maintain MS Access tutor database and tutoring forms Manage Center account and respond to student requests/inquiries Assist with tracking and assessment of services Qualifications: Bachelor s degree and full-time enrollment in a graduate program Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Page 3
5 Strong presentation and facilitation skills Experience tutoring or teaching is preferred Experience with MS Access is a plus 2. Learning and Study Skills Assistant: The Learning and Study Skills Graduate Assistant is responsible for assisting Lehigh undergraduates with the following academic skills: General Study Strategies, Time Management, Note Taking, Test Preparation, Test Taking, Academic Goal Setting, etc. The GA conducts one-on-one meetings with students and may also coach students with learning disabilities or ADD on a regular weekly basis. In addition to working one-on-one with students, the GA is responsible for conducting study skills workshops for fraternities, sororities, athletic teams, residence halls and other student groups and organizations. The GA works closely with Academic Life and Student Transitions staff and may be asked to perform other duties, such as proctoring exams, as needed. Qualifications Bachelor s degree in psychology, education, counseling, or related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong presentation and facilitation skills Strong time management and organizational skills Experience in teaching or counseling is preferred Experience with students with learning disabilities or ADD/ADHD is preferred 3. Program Coordinator: Work closely with the Center Director and the other Graduate Assistant Counseling and psychological services Johnson Hall, 4 th floor Positions offered: Counseling and Psychological Services: Primary responsibilities at the UCPS will include provision of primary assistance to the center's teaching, consultation and outreach efforts, providing computer and UCPS web site based assistance as needed, helping with some of the program evaluation and other research conducted in the Page 4
6 center, and providing some counseling and consultation within the center and to the university when requested to do so. At times the GA may be asked to complete intake and AoD evaluations, and to provide group and/or individual psychotherapy to Lehigh students as needed and as arranged by an assigned clinical supervisor. In most cases, the GA is expected to attend case conferences and staff meetings as well as assist UCPS staff with other center responsibilities related to the center s university clientele and other work. The director may also ask the GA to assist with "crisis and emergency" responsibilities. UCPS administration will provide supervision as appropriate to the responsibilities the GA is asked to assume, with some of this supervision possibly provided in a group context. 7 Positions Offered: The Graduate Student Life Office is looking for an enthusiastic and independent individual to work as Graduate Assistant. Strong organizational and technical skills, reliability, and friendly demeanor are the most important qualities necessary for this position. The Graduate Assistant will work for the academic year (mid-august to mid-may) and will receive a $15,000 stipend. In addition, the GA will receive nine (9) credit hours of tuition reimbursement per semester. Although there is a possibility of summer hours, there is no tuition reimbursement available for summer. Should the Provost s Health Insurance subsidy continue, the GA is eligible for a 50% reduction on health insurance premiums. Preference will be given to the candidate who can give a two year commitment. Valid U.S. driver s license is required. Candidates must be full-time students in good academic standing and have no code of conduct violations against them. The position requires 20 hours of work per week within daytime office hours. Some evening and weekend work is expected for special events. Duties include: Assisting both the Graduate Student Life Office and the Graduate Student Senate Executive Board in coordinating events, programs, and projects. Assisting in managing the Graduate Student Life Office. Maintenance of Graduate Life Office Website. Shopping for events. Other duties as assigned. 9 Positions Offered: 1. Graduate Assistant: The Graduate Assistant (GA) in the Office of Residence Life is a live-on position will concentrate on two key initiatives that align directly with the Division of Students Affairs. Primarily, the GA is responsible for the coordination, planning, and implementation of Lehigh After Dark event(s) namely, weekly Thursday Night Trivia. Through this initiative, the GA will collaborate with Gryphons, RHA, in addition to various other offices, clubs, and organizations. Secondly, the GA will maintain and update all social media outlets for Residence Life. The GA will strive to engage all residential students with our social media. The GA will be provided with the opportunity to develop professional contacts with Dean of Students and learn more about the Office of Residence Life (ORL) and the larger field of Student Affairs. Qualifications Full-time Lehigh University graduate student (minimum 9 credits per semester) Prior experience as a Lehigh University Gryphon with positive recommendation from supervisor(s) strongly preferred. Interest in exploring the field of Student Affairs, specifically, the area of Residence Life. Ability to complete projects on time and on budget, and report on status and progress. Excellent administrative, organizational, and time management skills. Computer skills with experience using social media including HootSuite, Facebook and Twitter. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation and design software for marketing events. Familiarity with Lehigh specific software including the student portal, Course Site and the Hub preferred. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Graduate Intern Be a full-time registered Lehigh University graduate student (minimum 9 credits per semester) at Lehigh University. Review and sign the Campus Guidelines and abide by all elements put forth in that agreement. Return to campus prior to each semester to assist with facilitation of Gryphon training (August, January). Maintain confidentiality when appropriate and in accordance with training. Abide by all University policies, rules, and regulations. Attend weekly ORL staff meetings and DOS meetings as appropriate. Serve as a resource to the Gryphons, Head Gryphons and Assistant Directors. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the Office of Residential Services and Dean of Students Offices. Provide continued support to ORL staff throughout the academic year by assisting with administrative duties, benchmarking, and new projects as developed. Abide by all University policies, rules, and regulations including, but not limited to, the General Provisions of Occupancy (GPO), Residential Services and Residence Life Campus Guidelines and the Student Code of Conduct. Serve as a positive representative for the Office of Residence Life. Create a transition report to provide necessary information for the upcoming year. 11 Cover letter S T U D E N T C E N T E R F A C I L I T I E S 29 T R E M B L E Y D R I V E inscf@lehigh.edu Student Activities and Student Center Facilities Training This Graduate Assistant will work as a member of the Dean of Students staff committing 20 hours per week and will receive an allotted monthly stipend and 18 credit hours per year (maximum nine per fall and spring semester). The Graduate Assistant will report directly to the Director of Student Center Facilities (SCF) and will be responsible for handling the designated responsibilities outlined below. QUALIFICATIONS: Be enrolled in a degree program at Lehigh University Have co-curricular experience as a student leader Work well independently and show a high level of initiative Work effectively with undergraduate students Possess computer skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn additional department specific software as required (i.e., WhenToWork, RepoApp, Canva, LINC, etc). Be well organized Previous customer service and work experience necessary Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively Previous experience with audio visual equipment is helpful Must be able to handle a flexible work schedule that may include day, limited evening, and limited weekend hours RESPONSIBLITIES: Computer skills Responsible for the inputting and updating all staff information, posting notifications, and sending/ monitoring various types of communication methods for staff. Develop and revise all necessary materials for the staff operations. Maintain information in our group section of the LINC. Utilize The LINC or Campus Labs for staff surveys and provide staff all necessary reading materials; implement training using Campus Labs (Student Voice) for surveys, online tools, and quizzes Page 10
12 Create and upkeep assessment data; create programs and training utilizing a variety of different methods Generate information and data for mid and end of the year reports. Student Staffing Scheduling: Schedule student Building Managers and Supervisors through WhenToWork software. Create and upkeep schedules and arrange and facilitate a weekly Manager Meeting. Work directly with Manager s to create twice weekly staff meetings, staff retreats, trainings, and End of Year Team Projects. Hiring: Assist with the interviewing and hiring of students to fill open Building Supervisor positions. Handle the internal application and interview presentations to fill open Manager positions Training: Assist with the training of all new student staff. Facilitate one-on-one and small group training of student staff based on observation and assessment information. Staff Retreats: Assist with the program development and implementation of the September all Student Center and Student Activities Student Staff Retreat incorporating learning established by our departments. Student Staff Payroll: Oversee all student staff payroll information, create reports, and submit bi-monthly log reports to the Reservations Coordinator. Develop and maintain a spreadsheet record for each student s hours/wages for all pay periods; maintain account balance records on Excel spreadsheet; provide the Director with datasheets of individual work study student balances and department account payroll account balances. Weekly Staff Meetings: Assist Managers with and/or develop program and material items for two weekly staff meetings for student staff. Weekly staff meeting will be planned in advance and will incorporate at least one of the five blueprint foundations for student success. Maintain records of each meeting for assessment purposes. End of the Year Group Projects: Help develop topics for End of the Year staff projects. Oversee all groups as they complete their projects during the spring semester. Help groups present this project and later implement it. Assessment and Evaluations: Periodically create surveys that coincide with job knowledge, activities, and training through Campus Labs, compile data, and upkeep assessment records. Assist in the evaluation process of each Building Supervisor in March of the Spring Semester. Create individual summaries from the completed evaluations for staff review and Director s one on one meeting with each student staff member. 13 The role of the graduate assistant will focus on the programmatic component of the office by collaborating with the Assistant Director for Student Activities. The graduate assistant will identify a variety of social, cultural, recreational, and educational programs. Graduate Assistant Qualifications Possess a bachelor s degree Enrolled in a graduate program Have co-curricular experience as a student leader Exhibit a high level of creativity and independence Work effectively with undergraduate students Possess computer skills, mainly Microsoft Office Serve as a representative of Lehigh University Excellent organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Graduate Assistant Responsibilities will include but aren t limited to: Work 20 hours a week Assist with the planning and coordination of assigned projects Attend weekly staff meetings Design and maintain online announcements Create posters to advertise events in residence halls Work with student staff members to create a community contributing to personal development in areas of creative curiosity, identity development, collaborative connections, inclusive leadership, and professional growth and success Co-facilitate bi-weekly staff meetings for great room and game room staff Create work schedules for the student staffs Be aware of, familiar with, and capable of completing daily setups for events being held in Lamberton Be familiar with the university s regulations, policies, and procedures Be ready to serve as a resource for student groups or organizations planning events in Lamberton Complete paperwork, assignments, and respond to requests in a timely manner Other duties as assigned Page 12

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be enrolled in a degree program at Lehigh University Have co-curricular experience as a student leader Work well independently and show a high level of initiative Work effectively with undergraduate students Possess computer skills in Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Photoshop; Google Site Applications; working knowledge of LINC; and the ability to learn additional department specific software as required Must be well organized Must adapt easily to new situations and demonstrate creativity and flexibility Previous customer service experience helpful Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively Previous experience with audio visual equipment preferred Must be able to handle a flexible work schedule to handle a variety of hours that will include day, minimum two evenings, and limited weekend hours RESPONSIBLITIES: Computer Skills and Programs Graphic Design Software: Learn the application process and logistics of programming and maintain DIBs (Digital Information Boards) including but not limited to sending out announcements, creating scenes, uploading postings, and creating flash video Photoshop: Work with Photoshop application for maintaining The Wall (student organization photo frames) photo submissions Adobe Captivate: Creating online training tools for student staff and for event planning WhenToWork: Manage SOuRCe student staff schedules Project Upkeep DIBs: Understand and maintain the entire DIBs project. Maintain and respond to inscf user account submissions, upload flyers into the system, maintain tracker system for posting and removing submissions, and work with student staff to develop and implement a marketing plan to solicit submissions. The Wall: Develop a marketing plan, implement, and create publicity to solicit submissions for The Wall locations in the University Center and Lamberton. Train, work Page 13
15 with, and oversee Building Supervisor staff on creating the images, send images to Printing, and coordinate the changing of images in the actual frames. New pictures must be added on a bi-weekly basis for the months of September, October, November, February, March, and April. Girdler Gallery: Work with others on staff to coordinate the exhibits in the Girdler Gallery. Develop marketing plans to encourage student submissions, and handle the logistics of taking photos from submission to display. Student Staffing Scheduling: Work with the Assistant Director of Student Activities, Director of Student Center Facilities, and Graduate Assistant for Programming to schedule student staff using WhenToWork software. Training: Train student staff on WhenToWork staff scheduling software. Assist with the training of student staff and provide input and support for staff meetings. Incorporate core competencies and job skills based around the department s Developmental Competencies, Learning Outcomes, and Assessment Plan for Student Staff. Review and make necessary changes to handbooks and standard operating procedures manuals. Staff Meetings: Meet with Assistant Director for Student Activities, student workers, and other team members to develop plans and events based on the needs of the group. Evaluations: Assist in the evaluation process of each student staff member. Create Evaluation surveys on LINC for student staff to complete and maintain assessment records. Create individual summaries from completed Evaluations for staff review. Event Planning: Event Planning Workshops: Work closely with Graduate Assistant for Activities to present customized Event Planning Workshops throughout the year. This might include: o In mid-september meet with Bill Hunter and develop an Event Planning Workshop for Global Union Organization at least two weeks prior to the individual organizers meeting with the Campus Event Advisory Committee. o Set up workshops with Graduate Student Life/Senate, RHA, Gryphons, IFC, Panhel, Multicultural Greek Alliance, Council of Student Presidents, and Leadership Lehigh Phase 2. Work with LTS consultant to develop a request form for groups to submit a request for an Event Planning Workshop. o Develop an online Event Planning Training tool through Captivate Other Responsibilities University Center: Work in the University Center 20 hours per week up-keeping audio visual equipment, working on departmental projects, and implementing DIBs technology, which may include other campus departments. Work with the student Building Managers on End of Year Technology projects Page 14
