2 Grambling State University Grambling, LA Research Associate Office of Planning and Institutional Research Ms. Nettie Daniels Was promoted to the offices Second-in-Command as directed by the university president thus becoming supervisor for the office when AVP for Planning and Institutional Research takes absence and was directed to; oversee the responsibilities of the office staff, conduct research/ training of the office researchers and graduate assistant to accommodate office wide abilities and skills due to increased responsibilities given to the office by the university president. Conducted several research efforts including academic advising, retention, and the predictive capabilities of the responses of the academic advising survey on departmental retention; percentage analysis of responses to the student opinion survey; alumni outcomes survey. In this role I was responsible for survey distribution, data collection and analysis and writing an extensive research analysis of the findings and preparing procedural and policy recommendations through executive summaries presented to the universities president and administrators. Wrote university fact book for academic years , , , and The university fact book tracks trends over 5-years pertaining to university statistics on student population and outcomes in terms of admissions scores, retention and graduation rates, completers reports; faculty and staff reports; financial resources and expenditures; and property usage Was responsible for the analyzing of the Measure of Academic Progress and Proficiency (MAPP) general education outcomes test for the purposes of Voluntary System of Accountability (VSA) reporting. Moreover, this data analysis was used to help discover educational and academic deficiencies in our mathematics and English departments due to the extremely low math and critical thinking scores Wrote the Policies and Procedures Manual for the Office of Planning and Institutional Research (PAIR) which included role responsibilities for office positions, expected annual, federal, local and commercial reports the office will participate in each year and clearly defined office rules, regulations and expectations of PAIR employees. Assisted several university professors with research for grant preparation, student research symposiums, along with conducting enrollment projections for the implementation of new degree programs. Conducted research methods seminars for students in masters of public administration program each semester since spring of 2008 Served on several teams and committees in the universities preparation of its 10-year reaffirmation of the Southern Association of College and Schools (SACS), providing pertinent research and analysis for departmental data during this same reaffirmation effort. Serve as the onsite TracDat administrator. This role requires the 2

3 insurance of a successful implementation and initial training of on-line assessment software, TracDat and the ongoing assistance for departments as university deans and vice presidents monitor and track the data driven evaluations, assessments and necessary plans of action as departments analyze their goals and objectives on an annual basis. The implementation of this program was necessary for meeting one of the core requirements for the SACS reaffirmation efforts. Additionally, in this role I have written the TracDat Training Manual for Grambling State University Serve on the Institutional Effectiveness committee. In that role I have analyzed and assessed unit assessment plans, helped created university wide departmental assessment plan and collection procedure which is necessary for continual assessment of departments goals and objectives and helped create policies and procedures for Institutional Effectiveness at Grambling State University Oversaw the implementation of a University wide Use-of-Results strategy for the results of the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) data. This included making presentations to the Presidents Executive Committee and assisting deans, department heads and Vice Presidents in developing action plans based on an in-depth analysis of the collected data Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship Grambling, LA Pastor, director and coordinator Increased the number of student leaders and peer mentors. More than tripled the number of students attending weekly meetings. Successfully raised more than $25,000 per year in operational funds. Coordinated 5 missions trips overseas [3 to Japan, 2 to South Africa] and several stateside giving numerous students international and national experience in service learning and servant leadership. Conducted several leadership training workshops and conferences for student leaders and peer mentors. Created newsletters to keep donors and potential donors aware of the happenings on campus. Summer 2006 The Adventures of Three R s Aurora, IL Teacher, Head Counselor Developed curriculum to give 5 th -8 th grade students experience in videography and develop proficient computer skills.
