1 Lanterman Developmental Center Community State Staff Survey October 2012 Geographical Preference for Community State Staff Employment INTRODUCTION The purpose of the Geographical Preference for Community State Staff Employment survey was to gain insight into staff interest in seeking employment through the Community State Staff (CSS) program. Information gathered from this survey included: Where staff currently live Demographically, areas/locations where staff would be willing to work Identifying staff preferences related to the type of service delivery staff were most interested in serving Identification of skills that staff believe they are competent in performing NOTE: Data gathered from this survey may be used for marketing purposes for the CSS program. The survey was initially distributed via general on Monday, October 1, In order to obtain a maximized return in responses, additional efforts were made to distribute the survey, including posting the survey on Lanterman s Intranet, as an article entry in the October 2012 News & Notes edition, and as a hand out to staff throughout all service areas during huddles and Program/Inter-shift meetings. When the survey was distributed on October 1, 2012, there were a total of 936 employees at Lanterman Developmental Center. At the end of the survey collection period, a total of 129 surveys were completed and submitted - representing 14% of total number of staff employed during the survey period. KM 12/12/12 1
