Bár az aktív mondatban tilos volt a to használata, szenvedő alakban azt kell megtanulnunk, hogy tilos a to-t kihagyni! 3. 'Make' kontra 'Do' He told me to do my homework before dinner. NOT He told me to make my homework before dinner. - do the homework : megcsinálja a házit Itt nincs igazán logikus szabály; egyes főnevek 'do'-val, míg mások 'make'-kel állnak (pl. 'make a perfect fit'). 4. Make és Brand (Make mint 'márka') What make is your car? It s a Mercedes. NOT What brand is your car? It s a Mercedes. - make : gyártmány; egy bizonyos fajta autó/telefon/fényképezőgép/video/mosógép stb. - brand : márka, egy bizonyos fajta szappan/fogkefe/müzli/cigaretta stb.
