Dedicated to helping teachers and coordinators use IT as a tool to support education and to implement it in all subject areas. I help develop individual IT plans and Institutional IT plans for current employer. Motivated to learn about new technologies and trends. Have been assigned projects like implementing a University Radio (Radio Educativa UVG), IT Consultant to develop skoool Guatemala and digital books from the Guatemalan Ministry of Education. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE a) Technology Director for an International American School From the year 2000, I have worked for Colegio Americano del Sur, an American school part of Grupo Educativo del Valle. Through these years I have been able to work in many projects that involve the planning, implementation and/or development, and assessment of IT educational projects such as a videoconferencing classroom, Library Management System, MAPs (Measures of Academic Progress), Digital Portfolios, web services, etc. Working at the school has also allowed me to develop and execute professional plans which teachers in the organization use to integrate technology to support the learning process. Plans include the implementation of IT in the curriculum, professional development plans, and tools to evaluate the success of these projects. Our department is currently developing a course of study to introduce Robotics in our school curriculum. I am also part of the steering committee to renew our accreditation with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

2 b) skoool Guatemala / Digital Books IT Consultant In 2008/2009 I was hired by Juarez and Associates as a consultant to design and develop the skoool site for Guatemala. The site was implemented for the Ministry of Education to help support science and mathematics national curricula. The project also involved the translation of the movies and main site to the Mayan language K iche. In 2011 I was hired again to develop the digital version of the series of books: Comunicación y Lenguaje and Vivamos en Armonía. These books were to be distributed throughout the country and compliment the Science and Spanish Language curricula for elementary levels. The digital version allows the teacher to use complimentary tools to facilitate the learning process. c) Centro de Idiomas -CEI- Director From , Universidad del Valle de Guatemala selected me as the director of the Language School (Centro de Idiomas). The program s main objective is to teach English to communities around the South Coast of the country. As director, I was able to carry out academic and administrative responsibilities. I helped to develop the curriculum for a Teacher Training Course sponsored by PRONACOM, and also created professional development plans for our own teachers to use appropriate methodology in learning English as a foreign language. Administrative responsibilities included the presentation of plans and projects to different sponsors, university authorities and donors. I developed and executed the program s budget and presented information to our board through reports and presentations. It is during this time that I had the opportunity to work closely with USAID funds through the English Access Microscholarship Program (Access). The U.S. Embassy provided scholarships for 60 students in both our campuses. d) University Professor In 2008 I began working on the weekends as a University professor in the Engineering Department at Mariano Galvez Univeristy. There I taught computer basics and programming. Currently I work as a professor for the Education Department of Universidad del Valle de Guatemala in the southern campus teaching English and Technology Integration classes. e) Radio Educativa UVG Technical Director As Technology Director for the school, in 2006 Universidad del Valle de Guatemala appointed me as the Technical Director of Radio Educativa UVG. The objective was to bring on the air the radio station using an AM frequency. The experience allowed me to learn about AM transmission as all parts of the implementation plan were being carried out. Today the station is live on the air in 840 AM, and through the Web at

Presentations have ranged from financial information, to the introduction or implementation of new projects. As Director for the Language School I have also worked with people from different backgrounds, including students and colleagues. Through this I have learnt to adapt my register to suit different audiences. c) Strong research skills and analysis I have been responsible for ensuring that different projects are not only planned, but executed. With this type of responsibility I have learned to research and utilize information from various sources and can assimilate, analyze and communicate data in a number of formats. I can build complex spreadsheets and databases to compile information and then present information in summarized formats. e) Competent in the construction of budgets Part of my responsibilities in administrative positions at Universidad del Valle de Guatemala has included the construction and execution of the Language School and IT budgets. These tasks are done using Microsoft Dynamics. f) Negotiations Skills I have 6 years of experience negotiating agreements with schools, companies, and government entities to provide English classes in various areas of nearby communities. I have also been a part of negotiations for grants, exchange programs, and technological equipment. g) PC and Mac literate Able to operate both with Microsoft Windows and Mac OS computers.
