SMARTRAC is the world s leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of RFID inlays and tags that make a broad variety of physical objects smart, enabling businesses to identify, authenticate and track their products, and complement them with digital and Web-based services.
Welcome to SMARTRAC and the World of RFID Over the past decades, new security demands arise as global mobility increases. To support that, governments around the world are introducing electronic passports and other RFID*-based identifi cation documents, from driving licenses to healthcare cards. Delivering smart and secure inlays to a very large number of eid projects worldwide makes SMARTRAC the global leader in high-quality RFID inlays for identity documents. Money may not have a smell but it smells outdated compared to modern contactless payment methods that accelerate the purchasing process and enhance user convenience. As a certifi ed manufacturer for the world s leading credit card companies, SMARTRAC offers state-of-the-art technologies for contactless payment and related application areas such as automated fare collection and access control. * Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the wireless, contactless use of electromagnetic fi elds to transfer data, for the purposes of automatically identifying and tracking tags attached to objects. RFID inlays and tags carry digitized information, allowing digital representation of the tagged object.
Industrial Internet, Industry 4.0 there are several names for and visions of the future of manufacturing, logistics and other industrial sectors of the economy. No matter which view you take, that future is all about digitization and intelligent processes. RFID brings identifiability, connectivity and hence intelligence to all relevant elements of these processes, whether they are tools, parts, components or other simple physical items. Supplying standard products or customized solutions, SMARTRAC is the preferred partner for RFID technologies for the manufacturing and logistics industries. The growth of vehicle numbers worldwide along with overwhelming amounts of vehicle data has created a demand for automated, highly secure and reliable Automatic Vehicle Identification Systems (AVIS). NEOLOGY, a fully owned subsidiary of SMARTRAC TECHNOLOGY GROUP, supplies private industry and governments with advanced, end-to-end AVIS solutions. The retail industry is going through transformative changes by taking big steps to provide consumer experience and omni-channel integration. RFID is a key enabling technology for that transformation, as it provides item-level visibility for any merchandise the precondition for inventory accuracy, loss prevention and full omni-channel readiness. By making merchandise smart, SMARTRAC is the premier source for RFID-based solutions that enable Next-Generation Retail. SMARTRAC products and services support a broad range of applications beyond these examples, including animal identification, automotive, electronics & gaming, keyless car access and immobilization, media management, packaging, pharmaceuticals & healthcare, supply chain management, leisure & entertainment and many more.
How can we make contactless payment and access control methods more secure and easy to use? How can we streamline manufacturing and logistics processes and make businesses more profitable? Connect things! How can we make the world more secure without making citizens lives more complicated? How can we transform retail into the next generation and create benefits for brands and consumers? How can we manage increasingly heavy traffic and facilitate mobility in metropolitan areas? smartrac-group.com
Setting the Pace in RFID SMARTRAC has established itself as the world s leading RFID company in terms of innovation, quality and the sheer quantity of passive RFID transponders* produced. Innovation and Quality are Part of Our DNA As a global pacesetter, we foster innovation and are continuously improving and enhancing our established product and service portfolio. Based on the industry s strongest R&D team, we constantly evaluate and integrate technical trends and developments worldwide, and we apply the highest levels of quality and operational excellence in the manufacture of every single transponder to create, produce and deliver premium-quality products that perfectly fi t to our customers needs. * An RFID transponder is the small device that emits an identifying signal in response to a received interrogation signal. A passive (batteryless) RFID transponder is basically a combination of an integrated circuit (IC) that stores the tag s ID and other information, and an antenna that gathers energy and transmits/receives signals. RFID transponders are available in different structural shapes, such as tags or inlays.
production of antenna technologies that suit the respective IC and application fi eld. We have long-term experience in applying our proprietary and patented wire-embedding technology. It is primarily used for RFID inlays in high-end applications that have to satisfy the highest standards of security, durability and mechanical robustness. Our etching technology offers the advantage of manufacturing several elaborate antenna structures during the same process. Etched antennas are used to produce RFID inlays for applications where a special antenna design is required, such as public transportation, inventory or media management. A Wealth of Know-How and Intellectual Property Backed by a portfolio of more than 1,000 patents and patent applications for RFID technology, equipment and production processes, we are continuously setting highest standards for the global RFID industry. Technologies that Make a Difference For our RFID transponders, we utilize ICs from all the leading chip manufacturers. One of our main strengths lies in the design and mass Coil winding is the technology we choose for the production of small glass transponders for applications such as animal identifi cation and car immobilizers. Packaged in a rugged capsule, such transponders are also suitable for use in harsh environments such as laundry, logistics and factory automation. The printing of conductive silver ink enables us to deploy and produce new antenna shapes in-house. The key benefi ts are a fast and economical realization of new designs for the HF and UHF frequency ranges. The antennas can be printed on various substrates and materials, and their main applications are in identifi cation documents, access control and more. smartrac-group.com
