1 INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE PROGRAMME "POLAND KAZAKHSTAN: ON INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE" Cracow, February 2013 The conference is held within the project "Pole s conversations with a Kazakh. Culturalartistic initiatives" carried out by the Eastern Initiative Institute. The project is aimed at the development of intercultural dialogue between Poland and Kazakhstan by initiating cultural-artistic projects as well as activation of academic environments, nongovernmental organizations and cultural institutions. In the year 2012, there was a twentieth anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Kazakhstan. Summarizing this period, one may state that the most developing branches between these two countries were economic relations and tourism. Undoubtedly there came the time to summarize current cultural cooperation and examine which factors will foster its further development. Innovative formula of the conference is aimed at connection of scientific theory concerning intercultural dialogue with practice and positive experiences in realization of cultural-artistic projects as well as the increase of event participants' abilities by taking part in workshops connected with culture management. Morning papers and presentations during two first days will enable to outiline the general topic both in theory and practice, whereas, afternoon panel discussions conducted by moderator will lead to potent discussions, ideas exchange and interaction between participants. In the evening hours, the guests of the conference will have an opportunity to get acquainted with Kazakh cinema.
