The conference has been designed to be a specialized conference in Central and Eastern Europe promoting and disseminating knowledge on best practices in transport innovations. during the conference, internationally recognized experts will address innovative solutions in transport technology, planning, organization, and management, and finance. A special focus will be on the development of innovative transport projects for European Union funding perspective Conference objectives The general conference objective is to support, promote and share the knowledge on innovative projects in transport and best practices for their implementation in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. There are several detailed conference objectives, namely: Increase transport market s openness for innovative solutions and undertakings. Promotion of the best practices and raising awareness of efficiency and improvement of methods for preparation and implementation of innovative solutions in transport. Strona 1 z 6

2 Make a contribution to more efficient use of the EU financial resources for transport development through promotion of innovative transport projects and their implementation. Promoting innovative solutions in all aspects of preparation, financing, implementation and management of transport projects, thus contributing to more efficient projects co-financed by the European Union. Prepare conclusions and increase awareness of local governments and other beneficiaries of the European funds on the role of innovativeness in developing competitive transport projects. Develop post-conference conclusions and recommendations for Poland s Ministry of Regional Development, Ministry of Transport and Construction, Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, and the Centre for EU Transport Projects (CEUTP) on preparation and implementation of European transport projects and development of transport innovativeness in the new EU budget period Distribute current information on innovative transport projects in EU and other countries. Identify training and information needs on innovative solution in transportation. Present proposals for practical solutions regarding innovativeness in transport. Develop data bank on best practices in transport and innovative solutions. Define the necessity and economic impact of innovativeness in transport development in the slow economic growth period. The Transport Innovations Forum will be an annual event. The findings of this conference will be continuously implemented by Transport Innovations Centre. This Centre is another initiative of the Foundation CATI. It has been started in a response to the identified demand for the development of knowledge on innovation in transport, especially in Central and Eastern Europe. The Transport Innovations Centre is a cooperative platform for the private and public sectors, non-governmental organizations, and research and development (R+D) organizations to promote and support the implementation of the innovative solutions in transport. Detailed information on the Centre objectives and activities is available at ( 3 Conference audience and participation The Transport Innovations Forum is addressed to the public sector, mainly local and regional self-governments and authorities, the private sector, research and development institutes and organizations, and non-governmental organizations that support economic development, including transport. The participation in the conference is free of charge.
