3 The goal of this course is to provide you with the basics of business administration In preparation for your business courses in the MME program, you will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of business. 5 The course is structured in 6 consecutive chapters: Corporate Production Introduction Accounting Marketing Finance & Logistics Management & Entrepreneurship Each chapter consists of the following 5 modules: Video Text Book News Case Study Get an introduction to the chapter via a video lecture Gain additional information on the chapter via a text book Get an understanding of the current business news via news articles Apply new theoretical skills in practice via an individual case study Quiz Show that you have worked on the other modules in this chapter and have understood its contents 2014 Chair of Business Administration for Engineers and Natural Scientists
6 The course is taught online For each chapter, you receive an with a To Do list and a link to access the content (The subject line of this reads: MME Prep TO DOS Chapter XY ). Apart from the text book, we will upload all contents online. You work on the teaching materials individually - conveniently at your own time and pace. You have two weeks to complete each chapter. Chapters overlap by one week. It is important that we always have an up to date address of you. 8 Grading is based on comprehension questions For each chapter, you have to take a quiz (document: QUIZ ). You receive the questions at the beginning of the time you have to work on a chapter. So, you always have the questions available while working on the chapter. For each chapter, you need to send in your answers (document: QUIZ ANSWER SHEET ) to the teaching assistant before the respective deadline has past. Answers/ proposed solutions will be send out within 2 weeks after the deadline for the chapter has passed. The course as a whole is graded pass or fail.
