2 INTRODUCTION The program on Finance for Non-Finance can be instrumental to enhance the profile of operating managers as finance cuts across all levels and types of business. In other words knowledge of Finance becomes important as it exerts unifying influence over process that aims attainment of towards company s goal. The program provides the managers with a comprehensive working knowledge of critical financial principles in an easy to follow manner, so that knowledge gained will help them make better decisions in their organisation. OBJECTIVES Deciphering financial jargon and developing the ability to see the real business implications of numbers is a key outcome of this program. The objective of the program is to enable managers: To enhance their role as decision maker and understand the implications of finance on corporate activities. To understand financial statements and analyse them. To put them in a better position to converse the relevant financial issues with finance managers in their organisation. To understand the impact of various decisions on company s performance PROGRAMME COVERAGE The following broad topics will be covered during the program: Understanding and Analysis of Financial Statements Cost management for Problem Solving and Decision-Making Evaluation of Investment Projects and Financing Overview of Indian Financial Markets Contemporary Topics in Finance PEDAGOGY A suitable combination of classroom lectures, interactive discussions, class exercises, case studies, and experience sharing would be used. Both the conceptual and practical side of finance will be discussed. FACULTY Experienced faculty of IIM Raipur along with eminent experts from the industry will conduct the sessions. 2

3 WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE? This program is designed for managers, senior executives in non-financial positions who need to improve their financial skills in order to make critical business decisions involving costsavings, budgets, new projects and growth strategies. This program is appropriate for nonfinancial managers in every functional area in the industries, both in public and private sectors. DURATION AND VENUE The Programme is scheduled during July 23-25, Accommodation on twin sharing will be provided from the noon of July 22, 2015 to the noon of July 26, 2015 at city hotel in Raipur. REGISTRATION FEE The registration fee per participant is Rs.30000/- plus service tax applicable (at present 12.36%) for three days. This includes academic fee, Programme kit for participants, boarding and lodging (on twin sharing basis). Payment should be made by crossed demand draft or Registration form duly filled in along with the NEFT in favour of Indian Institute of Management Raipur. In case of subsequent withdrawal or cancellation of nomination(s), no refund of fee will be allowed. However substitute may be permitted with prior intimation. Early bird discount of 10% is extended to all candidates registering until July 1, If there are 3 or more nominations from a company, IIM Raipur shall give additional 10% discount in programme fee. 3

4 PROGRAMME DIRECTORS Prof. K. K. Ray Associate Professor (Finance and Accounting) Indian Institute of Management Raipur Ph: , (M) Professor K K Ray has long years of experience in teaching, research and training. He has both management and commerce degree and completed Ph.D in Banking and Finance. His areas of interests include Corporate Finance, Environmental Finance & Valuation, Financial Markets, and Sustainable Responsible Investment. Prior to joining IIM Raipur, Prof. Ray was a faculty member in finance at Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal. As part of executive education, he has designed and conducted several management development and training Programmes for government and company executives including finance for nonfinance managers. Prof. Vinay Goyal Assistant Professor (Finance & Accounting) Indian Institute of Management Raipur Ph: (M) vinaygoyal@iimraipur.ac.in Professor Vinay Goyal is a Faculty in the area of Finance and Accounting. He received his Ph.D. in management from Devi Ahilya University, Indore. He is a Chartered Accountant and MBA finance from Institute of Management Studies, and M.Com. B.Com. from Devi Ahilya University Indore. Before, joining IIM Raipur, he had worked as faculty in Goa Institute of Management, CH Institute of Management Indore. He has also worked as Office with IDBI Bank Ltd. and Finance Manager with The Daly College, Indore. He has teaching, research and industry experience of about 15 years. His areas of research, teaching and consultancy include Financial Accounting, Cost & Management Accounting, Taxation, Corporate Accounting and Finance, Business valuation, Banking Management and Investment Banking.
