10 Page 10 St. Athanasius Church April 12, 2015 La devoción de la Divina Misericordia se comenzó a esparcir por el mundo entero a partir del diario de una joven monja polaca en El mensaje no es nada nuevo, pero nos recuerda lo que la Iglesia siempre ha enseñado por medio de las Sagradas Escrituras y la tradición: que Dios es misericordioso y que perdona y que nosotros también debemos ser misericordiosos y debemos perdonar. Pero en la devoción a la Divina Misericordia este mensaje toma un enfoque poderoso que llama a las personas a un entendimiento más profundo sobre el Amor ilimitado de Dios y la disponibilidad de este Amor a todos especialmente a los más pecadores. El mensaje y la devoción a Jesús como la Divina Misericordia esta basada en los escritos de la Santa María Faustina Kowalska, una monja polaca sin educación básica que en obediencia a su director espiritual escribió un diario de alrededor de 600 páginas que relatan las revelaciones que ella recibió sobre la Misericordia de Dios. 13 Page 13 St. Athanasius Church April 12, 2015 Faith Sharing We encourage you to talk about the readings & reflection question in the car on the way home from Mass, at dinner on Sunday, or at parish meetings. Faith sharing opens the door for us to meet, know & walk with Christ in our everyday lives. When do you find forgiving easy? When is it difficult? The Morning Scripture Reflection & Faith Sharing Group Rosary Society The Rosarians welcome all women of the Parish. The Society is dedicated to the Blessed Mother, the growth of the love of God through Mary. We honor the Blessed Mother by the constant and reverent praying of the rosary in our daily life. We are involved in all Parish activities, liturgical and social and keep informed about civic community activities. Spiritual activities include an Annual Retreat, Annual Communion Breakfast and Baby Shower for Unwed Mothers. The Society raises money to help our Church continue outreach efforts. The fundraisers include: Christmas Fair, Basket Night, Chinese Auction. We attend the 10:00am Mass on the Third Sunday of the month (except July & August) followed by a meeting & light breakfast in the School. Golden Age Club Meets every Wednesday at 12:45pm in the School Auditorium (During the school year) All Golden Agers are welcome to join us. Figlia Maria SS Addolorata Join them every First Friday to pray the Rosary in the Nazareth Institute at 8pm. The St. Athanasius Respect Life Ministry Thank You Jesus Holy Name Society New members are welcome to help with our community service work. The Society is a spiritual organization, a fraternity of the Catholic Church, spreading devotion to the Name of Jesus. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow! The present Holy Name Society members dedicate themselves to corporal works in helping our Parish Organizations and School, with various fundraising. The Holy Name meets every second Sunday of each month (after the 10 a.m. Mass), except for July & August.
