3 Ministry Manual Introduction Dear Parishioner, In this manual, you will find a description of every ministry here in our parish. Each profile lists the purpose of each ministry and a description of the service that is provided. We have over 20 active ministries and still growing reaching out to the needs of our St. Cecilia Parish Community. All parish ministries are grouped according to the work provided: Liturgy, Social Concern, Spiritual Development, Youth Groups and Parish Administration. Remember, this Ministry Manual is written for you, as you reflect and pray on the challenge of becoming a good Christian Steward. Stewardship is a way of life! It means becoming a follower of Jesus by reflecting God s love everyday. Stewards live in grateful acknowledgment of God s gifts by nurturing those gifts, sharing those gifts and returning them to God with increase. Peter, the first apostle, writes: As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God s varied grace (1 Peter 4:10) It is our hope that this manual: Be a resource for you and your family members who may be in need of the church s ministries Will help you in the process of reflecting on sharing your time, talent and treasure and experience the joy of serving Will help you not to feel alone and isolated, but feel loved and cared for by the St. Cecilia Parish Family Will help you realize how much you are blessed and to return back to God a portion of what He has given you Many people feel they have no special gifts or talents. It is not special gifts that are needed, but a genuine desire to serve God and His people. We hope this manual will give you the opportunity that you have been searching for to celebrate the loving, vibrancy and warmness of the community of St. Cecilia Parish. May God, Our loving Creator of all gifts bless our parish community, strengthen our faith and grant us the spirit of Christian Stewardship so that we may give generously of our Time, Talent and Treasure to the spreading of His kingdom here at St. Cecilia Parish and beyond. Sincerely, Stewardship Committee 3
