Cost is $10 and includes lunch. Community Ministry Project 5000 February 22nd March 29th, 2015 Share God s love by providing food for Project Starting February 22, you can pick up a special Project 5000 reusable grocery bag. Please return the filled food bags (not boxes) to the Social Hall. New bags will be available there for those who want to fill more. Food Lists will be attached to each bag. All food collected will be shared with our ministry partners and used to help feed individuals and families in our community. If you would prefer to make a donation, please note that it costs about $25 to fill a food bag; however any amount will be accepted! Checks should be made out to HPCUMC with Project 5000 in the memo. 6 Global Outreach Ministry Partners Easter Offering Dear Members and Friends of Hyde Park Community UMC, As we begin the Lenten journey, a time of self-examination and introspection, in preparation for the great Easter celebration, we invite you to participate in the Global Outreach Easter Offering. Your financial support of our Global Mission Partners will save the life of a person in Africa, enhance the livelihood of children in Haiti, provide a Christ centered place of worship amidst predominantly atheistic surroundings in Russia and Germany, or help to maintain the health and wellness of Americans who have followed God into full-time missions in Asia Minor. We have a strong history of faithfully providing for our Global partners in meeting the varying needs that they have. In giving to our Easter offering for Global Ministry Partners, you will be supporting: The Samara United Methodist Church and the Volga District of Eurasia Central Conference, Russia through our relationship with Samara UMC, we assist the church in achieving its vision of being a dynamically growing church meeting the physical and spiritual needs of those living in their community. United Methodist Churches in Chemnitz, Freiberg, Plauen, and Augustusburg, Germany the ministry in all of these former East Germany cities includes tearing down and restoring church buildings in order to begin ministries of healing, education, and leadership development in the areas where they find themselves.

7 Global Outreach Ministry Partners Easter Offering Ganta Hospital and Missionary Dr. Albert Willicor the hospital and Dr. Willicor are experiencing an even greater flow of people in need of health care with the Ebola outbreak. The only referral hospital in the region, serving over 450,000 residents of the surrounding area, the Ganta Hospital offers emergency services, prenatal care, outpatient care, diabetes care, and now care for those with Ebola. The hospital and Dr. Willicor are on the front lines of bringing Christ and healing to a region affected by turmoil of varying kinds. Faith Academy, Haiti Faith Academy was started by a Haitian Christian, Fanfan Janvier. The school educates and feeds over 300 children a day. Education in Haiti is not free, but this school through the assistance of friends and churches in the USA can charge a nominal fee and thus many children who would not be able to receive education otherwise are not only learning but receiving a substantial meal each day as well. The Henry s in Asia Minor missionaries to Asia Minor serving to bring energy, refueling, and healthy boundaries to others who have joined the mission field in Asia Minor.

8 Global Outreach Ministry Partners Easter Offering The Henderson Settlement and Red Bird Mission, Kentucky both of these partners seek to meet the needs of those in poverty in rural Appalachia Kentucky. The Henderson Settlement seeks to provide for basic needs (education, housing, food, clothing, jobs, etc.) through God s love. The Red Bird Mission School has educated and shaped the faith of children from families of coal miners and loggers, in three different counties. Our specific goal for providing for the needs of all of our Global Ministry Partners is $60,000. With your generous support we will exceed our goal, and provide leadership training, education for those in poverty, supplies and staffing resources for health needs, as well as training and care for those who need support. You can make your donation to the Global Ministry Partners by writing your check to Hyde Park Community UMC. Please use the enclosed envelope or mark your check Easter Global Offering. Bring it with you to church or mail it to the church office. To provide the most assistance to our partners, we will use your gift where it can do the most good by combining it with the gifts of others to fulfill the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
