1 Colorado FY2015 AmeriCorps State & National Grant Coversheet Below is a breakdown of the funding being awarded to The state competitive funding and state formula funding will be granted to Serve Colorado, the governorappointed State Service Commission. The Commission will, in turn, award grants to nonprofit organizations and/or public agencies responding to local needs across the state. In addition, funding is also being awarded to one or more national direct grantees, which are organizations headquartered in Colorado that support AmeriCorps members serving in more than one state. These awards may be used to pay for college or vocational training or to pay back student loans. Through the state competitive grants alone, AmeriCorps members in Colorado are projected to earn $3,895,654 in Education Awards to support their pursuit of higher education.
