1 Op 18 oktober 2014 geeft Joseph P. Folger PhD, in samenwerking met Stichting Het Transformatief Model, de Denktank Transformatieve Mediators Nederland en het Centrum voor Conflicthantering, de training Het Faciliteren van Teamontwikkeling - de transformatieve benadering - Joseph P. Folger is Professor of Adult and Organizational Development aan de Temple University, Philadelphia PA USA en is mede- oprichter van the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation ( Samen met Robert A. Baruch Bush is hij de auteur van The Promise of Mediation. In dit boek beschrijven Folger en Bush een unieke benadering van omgaan met conflicten. Deze benadering is sinds de verschijning van het boek onderwerp van vele studies en heeft bij onder meer het Amerikaanse US Postal Services en Capital District Health Authority in Canada tot aanzienlijke verbeteringen in de werksituatie geleid. Sinds kort wordt de benadering ook in Europa succesvol toegepast bij Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London (Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea Hospital, St Mary's Hospital en Western Eye Hospital). Pittige uitdagingen voor teams Onderlinge problemen kunnen de prestaties van een team flink ondermijnen. Ze hebben bovendien een negatief effect op het werkplezier van de individuele leden. Als teams hun problemen aan willen pakken kunnen ze voor pittige uitdagingen komen te staan. Teamleden vinden het namelijk vaak lastig om vervelende situaties met elkaar te bespreken. Ze vinden het daarbij ook niet eenvoudig om de bestaande, meestal onproductieve patronen in hun onderlinge communicatie te veranderen. Effectieve teamontwikkeling vraagt echter om een transformatie van de interactie tussen teamleden. Inhoud workshop Deze workshop bouwt verder op de onderliggende principes van Transformatieve Mediation en leert je intensieve, hands- on vaardigheden om teamontwikkelingssessies te kunnen ontwerpen en uitvoeren. Deze vaardigheden zet je in om kwalitatieve verschuivingen in de interactie binnen het team te bereiken. Voorbeelden van dergelijke vaardigheden zijn niet- directieve conflictinterventies, geavanceerde manieren om de communicatie binnen het team te faciliteren en het vermogen om te werken binnen diverse en uitdagende organisatorische culturen en klimaten. Voor wie De workshop is waardevol voor mensen die als derde partij bij willen dragen aan teamontwikkeling, zoals organisatie(ontwikkelings)adviseurs, groepsbegeleiders, mediators die hun vaardigheden willen uitbreiden naar groeps- en multi- partijen conflicten, communicatietrainers en human resource professionals, die verantwoordelijk zijn voor de ontwikkeling van leiderschap en teamprestaties binnen hun organisaties. Het programma De workshop duurt van 9:00-17:00 en bestaat uit theorie en praktische oefeningen. De trainer spreekt Engels.
