4 THE MENAFACTORS ADVANTAGE One of the few standalone Factoring/Trade Finance companies in the region in a world class regulatory environment. Menafactors is one of few companies focused entirely on providing customized cash flow and trade receivables management facilities. What we do best is to work with you in understanding the value of your receivables and/or optimizing your supply chain/working capital. Here are a few other reasons why you should talk to us : The DIFC association We are a Category-1 license holder; the highest regulated segment of all companies in the DIFC, one of the world s fastest growing financial centers. The Dubai Financial Services Authority is renowned for its legal and regulatory framework and offers its member companies significant capability to reach out to global businesses. The ability to customize We believe in structuring solutions around your business and not the other way round. We are happy to look at how your business is run and offer a solution that fits. Geographical coverage Our Group covers some of the most important trading centers globally especially in the emerging markets which historically have been very active trading partners for our region. Additionally, our professional memberships open access to a large number of important markets and allow us to offer certain unique and customized solutions to our clients. Technology We have invested substantially in setting up a state-of-the-art platform to help manage our clients trade books. With a modular product suite, we could manage your books for you, while you focus on building business. Write to us or call and we shall explain why it helps to let us partner your business! From the CEO s desk Our strategic focus on trade finance solutions supported by robust technology platforms cater to businesses at every growth stage. Our ability to customize solutions to meet our clients business requirements makes us a partner of choice. We are privileged to work with some of the leading business houses and indeed cherish the opportunity to have been part of their continued growth. Anand Padmanaban Chief Executive Officer 04
5 SERVICES THAT EMPOWER A suite of specialized products and tailored offerings to boost your business. Menafactors offers a range of Factoring products designed to facilitate better working capital management. While these cover both purchase and sales management, they can and usually are customized to encompass a good portion of your company s supply chain. Here is a brief introduction to some of our primary products: IN SALES Factoring (Receivables) This is usually a three-way arrangement (between yourselves as sellers, us as the factor and your buyers) where we could offer one or more of the following services against credit invoices raised on such buyers: Advance money Manage the receivables book or the sales ledger Protect credit commercial terms from their vendors. Your established relationship with these suppliers, in effect forms a vital part of your overall supply chain management. Forfaiting Here we offer to purchase credit instruments such as avalized bills of exchange, confirmed letters of credit, promissory notes or other freely negotiable instruments on non-recourse basis from you (as seller). These are normally supported by buyer s bank and hence have an obligor risk which is primarily on such bank/financial institution. The usual practice is to discount the instrument and pay the net proceeds to you. This product lends itself suitably where the transactions are of large value and/or where the tenure of the credit is longer than usual short term working capital funding arrangements. Vendor factoring Your vendors/suppliers are provided with a Factoring facility covering their sales to you. The characteristic of this product is that you (as a buyer/debtor) will initiate a Factoring arrangement for your vendor/supplier. Our primary relationship continues to remain with you. This typically allows buyers to negotiate better 06
6 SERVICES THAT EMPOWER (Contd) IN PURCHASE Reverse factoring With this product, we pay invoices raised by your vendors on submission of documents. This product differs from the Vendor Factoring product on the following counts: The facility is given to you (as a buyer). The seller/vendor gets the full invoice value. No formal assignment may be called for from the seller/vendor. Import factoring This facilitates our underwriting your corporate risk on a request for such a risk cover. Such requests are normally received from a counter financial institution which may have offered a Factoring arrangement to your seller/vendor. While the above mentioned products all involve funded exposures, this product envisages the Factor taking on an unfunded exposure on your company. This arrangement is therefore bipartite i.e. between two parties, being financial institutions only. This product is a good complement to Letters of Credit and incrementally supports non-funded limits that you might already have with various financial institutions. While these products are elaborated on our website, we shall only be too glad to explain to you in person. 08
7 SUCCESS STORY Experiences and learning that keep us striving harder and breaking barriers while inventing new solutions in Trade Finance A case of cross border supply chain management FDC International FZE, a Dubai based company engaged in regional distribution of IT products approached Menafactors with a need to help them optimize their working capital cash flows. With a turnover in excess of USD 400 million and a geographically distributed receivables book, cash flow management required maximized control and engagement with various counterparts (including the debtors to FDC) in other countries. Menafactors was able to establish a comprehensive supply chain solution for FDC which covered purchases from their global distributors, credit protection on their sales and ultimately off-balance sheet financing, leveraging support from other FIMBank Group companies. Since then, FDC has been able to drastically improve balance sheet leverage and is now looking to expand this model to many other countries in conjunction with Menafactors. We have been extremely happy with the customized solutions provided by Menafactors. They have worked with us in bringing efficiency into our working capital management. This is clearly helping us define our growth strategies better. K.G. Vincent, Director- Finance FDC International FZE 10
