5 FCS Maintenance Stairs Standard and special Stairs Franke Care System utilises the latest in CAD design to enable us to produce stairs to exacting criteria. Applying the latest in material research we manufacture light-weight and durable equipment to support line and base operations. Standard stairs have been developed within the Engineering Department to encompass a range of solutions for maintenance access. Access stairs are available from two steps through twenty two steps. In addition we have also developed access platforms with multi-function applications. We understand that variations on the standard are required to meet new or unique requirements; therefore out Technical Department will develop existing, or create new, designs to meet customer specifications precisely. The Technical Department constantly review the designs of these products to ensure that they incorporate the latest advancements in component technology. 7 FCS Wheel and Brake support equipment Franke Care identified wheel and brake servicing as a key area of support in aircraft maintenance operations. We offer a range of products to support our Clients, creating solutions to meet a variety of circumstances. Wheel changers and lifters increase efficiency in servicing times whilst allowing the technicians to operate safely. Transportation and servicing carts were developed to ensure that aircraft operations are supported with the necessary tools and equipment readily available in a single, transportable module. All wheel and brake equipment can be customised to meet specific requirements or situational circumstances. 10 FCS Lifting Equipment Our product development of standard equipment for maintenance support has been expanded in order to meet our Clients requirements. Lifting equipment used in daily operations is supplied by Franke Care, with a range of jacks and handling devices. Working with our Clients we have developed equipment that has a specific role in maintenance support and these have been customised to ensure safe and efficient engineering practices. 11 FCS-Silencer Noise absorption in the hangar Franke Care System Engineering Department developed the Avionic Bay Silencer Kit to substantially reduce noise levels as it was identified that when performing maintenance work the aircraft avionic system can create considerable noise. Located at the fwd. avionic extraction valve, the silencer reduces operational noise from the E/E Compartment cooling blower by approx. 14.5dBA. Operational benefits: reduced operational noise very easy handling self height adjustment (fuselage height) a quieter working environment less noise related fatigue for maintenance staff The following values were determined by a test run on an Airbus A at a measurement height of 1.70 m. 30 Calibration & Repair & Servicing By arrangement Franke can offer a "Free of Charge" recall service to advise the customer in advance of re-calibration and servicing dates based on any frequency specified. Service and Repairs Service and repairs will are quoted on inspection with the aim of providing more competitive prices. Slip Gauge Calibration We can calibrate and issue Certificate of Conformity and test certificates for most types of slip gauge set in either steel, tungsten carbide or ceramic. All used gauges are "minimally lapped" on both measuring faces and ultrasonically cleaned prior to calibration. This is necessary to ensure accurate measurements. Calibration is carried out to ISO/IEC specification by measurement at five points. Certificates are accredited and fully traceable to national standards. They are graded to customer requirements where stated and include a chart of errors for the gauges. Where gauges are found to be outside a specified grade, a quotation can be provided for replacements if required. 31 Calibration & Repair & Servicing Cont.. Torque Calibration We can calibrate torque wrenches and torque screwdrivers and issue C of C s and test certificates for wrenches up to and including 1000 Newton/meters (750 foot/pounds). Calibration is carried out to ISO/IEC specification and measurements are fully traceable to national standards. Most brands of torque tools can be serviced/repaired and calibrated if required. After Sales Support Equipment Technicians are available to provide periodic service inspections on all equipment supplied by Franke Care System.
