17 Privacy Policy The Unmanned Aircra` System (UAS) Test Site operated by Virginia Tech; Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and the University of Maryland under the oversight of the Mid Atlan)c Avia)on Partnership (MAAP) is dedicated to the responsible integra)on of UAS into the Na)onal Airspace System (NAS). One aspect of this responsible integra)on is respect for privacy. The purpose of this policy is to provide guidance in the opera)on of the MAAP UAS Test Site to ensure that in the course of the research, development, test and evalua)on process that the privacy of all individuals is respected. 6 May

19 Policy Highlights No MAAP UAS Test Site opera)on will have as its mission inten)onally collec)ng the personal informa)on of individuals in the general public where they have an expecta)on of privacy to include imagery, phone, wireless or other electronic emissions that might contain personal informa)on Sensor data will be treated as follows: Generally speaking, sensor data not associated with FAA UAS Integra)on research (normally radar, ADS- B, telemetry, etc.) will be destroyed a`er 14 days. 6 May

20 Policy Highlights In the event that a customer requires reten)on of the data beyond that point, the customer or the UAS test site will be required to cer)fy that The data contains no personal informa)on of anyone in the general public in which they have a reasonable assump)on of privacy. That personal informa)on that has been inadvertently detected has been destroyed or obscured, or That permission of the persons in ques)on has been obtained to retain the personal data.
