1 Internet Explorer Settings for use with Privia The following document is intended for users who are running Privia and Internet Explorer who either cannot install the Privia client or the client is not allowed to modify settings on the system to allow use of the Privia server with the.net framework and IE. The following settings must be made to ensure proper functionality of Privia. 1) Add the Privia server to your trusted sites in Internet explorer. a. Open Internet Explorer b. Click on the Tools option and select Internet Options:

2 c. Select the security tab and highlight the trusted sites icon in the box labled Select a zone to view or change security settings and click the sites button. d. Type the address of your privia server into the box labled Add this website to the zone and click the add button.

3 2. Enabling file downloads. a. To enable export file downloads you must first verify that the server has been added to the trusted sites in Internet Explorer. b. Open Internet Explorer and select Tools and Internet Options. c. Select the security tab and highlight the trusted sites icon in the box labled Select a zone to view or change security settings and click the Custom Level button d. In the settings list displayed under the heading Downloads Enable both Automatic prompting for file downloads and File Downloaded

4 3. Incorrect dialog sizing due to IE7-forced Address and Status bars in pop-up windows. a. To correct an issue with dialog sizing you must first verify the Privia Sever is in your trusted sites. b. Open Internet Explorer and select Tools and Internet Options. c. Select the security tab and highlight the trusted sites icon in the box labled Select a zone to view or change security settings and click the Custom Level button d. Under the heading Miscellaneous enable Allow websites to open windows without address or status bars

5 4. The Do not save encrypted pages to disk will block navigating the HTTPS pages in Privia. a. Open Internet Explorer b. Select tools and Internet Options and select the advanced tab c. Under the heading Security in the Settings list uncheck the box labled Do not save encrypted pages to disk

6 5. Set IE up to use compatibility mode when navigating on your Privia server. a. Open Internet Explorer b. Click on the Tools option and select Compatibility View Settings c. Type privia.com in the text entry box and click Add
