1 Provided below are step-by-step instructions for utilizing the MetriTech website to securely submit student audio file data. If you have any questions, please contact MetriTech technical support at Go to in an internet browser. 2. Click on the link for NYSED Program (shown above). Page 1

2 3. Click on the link for NYSESLAT Audio Upload (shown below). 4. Enter the Username and Password provided to you by MetriTech and click the Login button. Page 2

3 5. If you already know your schools BEDS code, please follow the instructions on the web. If you are unfamiliar with the code, you can locate it on the School Materials List that shipped along with your materials (example below). Page 3

4 6. Option 1: Single File Upload. If you only have a few students to submit files for, you may wish to use this option. The process is detailed in section 6A (on the following page). Required demographic fields are shown within the green box below. Audio files cannot be uploaded without populating these fields Note: Pre-ID number is only required if students have MetriTech provided Pre-ID labels. Optional demographic fields are shown within the red box below. If the information is available, please populate as many fields as possible. Page 4

5 6A. First, select a Cassette Code from the pull-down menu. The Cassette Code can be found as shown in the graphic below. The list is generated by the BEDS code that is entered, so only a specific school s cassette codes will show in the list. To ensure unique file names, please use the Cassette Code as the name of the audio file (Example: FT14C00001.mp3). Each cassette code is time/date stamped upon uploading its data to the web (as indicated on the highlighted example below). Those that still require data to be uploaded indicate this as well (the examples that display Not Uploaded after their cassette code). If your school did receive Pre-ID labels, please use the 8-digit number in the top-right corner of the label (shown below) for the Pre-ID Number field. Page 5

6 After you have filled out the necessary demographic data, the only remaining step is to actually upload the audio file for the student. This process involves the two buttons shown below (These can be found on the main page directly below the demographic data). Click the Browse... button. This will open a window similar to the one seen below. Navigate to the file you wish to attach and either double-click the name or select it and then choose Open. After selection, the name of the file you have chosen will appear next to the Browse... button (shown below). Click the Upload Single Audio File button to upload the audio file to our server. This also links the student audio file with the demographic data. Page 6

7 If the upload was successful, a confirmation message will appear (shown below). Select a new Cassette Code to continue uploading data for another student or choose the Logout option if you are completed. 7. Option 2: Multiple File Upload. If you have a large number of students to submit data for, this option should be used. Click the Upload Multiple Audio Files link. Page 7

8 This method of submission has requirements that are outlined at the top of the screen. It requires two components 1) a single zip file containing all student audio data and 2) a manifest. The manifest format has been provided (partially pictured below). Please note that fields A through G are mandatory. The manifest format can be downloaded by clicking the NYSESLAT Audio File Manifest link (pictured below). To ensure unique file names, please use the appropriate Cassette Code as the name of each audio file included in the zip. Page 8

9 Click the Browse... button. This will open a window similar to the one seen below. Navigate to the file you wish to attach and either double-click the name or select it and then choose Open. Click the Upload Zip File button to upload your data to MetriTech s secure server. If the upload was successful, a confirmation message will appear (shown below). Once you have uploaded your data, choose the Logout option in the top-right portion of the screen. If you need to update your zip file submission for any reason, follow the previous steps to upload the new file. Upon submission, prompt you will be prompted with a message: An upload for this school already exists. It was uploaded MM-DD-YYYY at 15:25:05. Do you wish to replace the existing zip file? Choose Yes to replace the previous submission. Page 9
