1 Se October 29, 2015 Centennial Middle School students to play at OMEA All- State Music Conference Congratulations to the following students for being selected to represent Centennial Middle School at the OMEA All- State Music Conference: Christian Mondero (left) was selected to participate in the All- State Middle School Orchestra and will be playing Violin. Adam Johnson (right) was selected to participate in the All- State Middle School Concert Band and will be playing Bassoon. They will attend the conference January 14 th and 15 th. This event will culminate in a Grand Concert" featuring selected students from across the state of Oregon performing in Concert Band, Boy s Choir, Girls Choir, and Orchestra. Taiwanese Foundation staff visit Centennial School District Tuesday, two representatives from the King Car Education Foundation in Taiwan, visited Centennial High School, Centennial Middle School and Oliver Elementary School. Joyce Tseng, Executive Director and Shianyun Lo, coordinator, are exploring the possibility of partnering with the Centennial School District to bring Taiwanese students for a 2- to- 3 week visit to the district in the future. Carol Fenstermacher, Community Engagement Coordinator worked with the foundation in her previous school district, and hosted the visitors while they were in Portland. 2 District addresses to change November 1 We have recently changed our district domain name from centennial.k12.or.us to csd28j.org. Part of the reason for the change is to shorten our student login usernames making it easier for them to get logged into the services they need. It also makes our addresses much shorter to enter and remember. What Does This Means For You? This primarily means your address is changing. The first part of your address will remain the same [first name_last name]. Everything after symbol will now be different. Example: jane_doe@centennial.k12.or.us will now become jane_doe@csd28j.org. What are the Impacts? Here is a list of things that will be impacted by this change. Please read carefully as most of the questions you have about this change will be answered here: Any that someone sends to your old address will automatically get forwarded to your new address. That part will be seamless and you will not see a difference on your end. If you have Centennial business cards with your old address, they are still good. When you run out and need to re- order, your new address will be added to the card. Any Google services you log into will now require that you use your new address. That includes Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Classroom, and others. If you use your full address to sign into the Intranet page, you ll need to use your new address. If you have your Centennial account on your cell phone, ipad or other mobile device, you will need to remove that account and add a new account using your new address. All data from your account will re- sync with the new address and will not be lost. Any 3rd party services that you use your address to log into will require that you use your old address (@centennial.k12.or.us) until those services have updated their systems. The new changes will go into effect this Sunday, November 1, As always, if you should run into any technical issues with this change process, please submit a ticket to the Help Desk online and/or call the Help Desk at x1701. In order to gain access to the store, you must show the invitation at the end of C- Mail through on a smart phone or a physical printout with the bottom portion complete. Photocopies or camera photos of the invitation will not be accepted. You may share the shopping invitation with family and friends. Access to the store is unlimited during your allotted shopping duration; however, you must bring a copy of your shopping invitation each time. Tidbits Two good friends, two district employees, two CHS alumni, and two adorable grandsons! Debbie Huecker, CHS Assistant Principals Secretary, and Kristi Kelly, CMS Lead Secretary, have been good friends for several years and now have a connection on even a grander scale. On October 13, 2015, Carson Myron Huecker (Mom is alum Darcey Huecker) and Braxton Avery Martin (Dad is alum Jake Martin) were born at the same hospital within hours of each other weighing in at exactly one pound and one inch difference in weight and height. Braxton Martin (above left) weighed 7lbs. 1 oz. and

4 was 20 inches long. Carson Hueckerm (above right), weighed 8lbs. 1 oz. and was 21 inches long. Both grandmas and both babies are doing well!
