1 Bell Mortgage Honored Jefferson Award for Corporate Philanthropy Bell Mortgage, Minnesota s oldest and largest privately-owned mortgage-banking company, is proud to announce that it was a proud recipient of the December 2009 Jefferson Award for Corporate Philanthropy from the Minneapolis/ St. Paul Business Journal. The award honors companies dedicating time, talent and energy to charitable causes. The Jefferson Awards for Public Service congratulates Bell Mortgage for their long, outstanding commitment to public service in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Community. The Jefferson Awards were founded in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, U.S. Senator Robert Taft Jr. and Sam Beard, founder and chairman of the National Development Council, to honor public and community service.

The award honors companies dedicating time, talent and energy to charitable causes.

2 Bell Mortgage Honored 2010 Minnesota Business Ethics Award The Minnesota Chapters of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Center for Ethical Business Cultures and the Minnesota Society of CPA s annually recognize outstanding achievement in the advancement of ethics within the business community. These organizations honored Bell Mortgage as an Award Finalist in the Mid-sized Company Category on May 19th, The Minnesota Business Ethics Awards recognize Minnesota businesses that have exemplified and promoted ethical conduct for the benefit of the workplace, the marketplace, the environment and the community.

3 Spare Key of Minnesota Spare Key is eternally grateful to Bell Mortgage for their continuing partnership. We at Spare Key have been blessed to have received your financial donations from Bell s loan officer support program (more than $20,000 since January of this year) to assist in meeting our mission of assisting families with seriously ill or injured children by making a mortgage payment on the family s behalf. We are particularly pleased to have had Bell s sponsorship of The Spare Key Story. This video message portrays parents emotional and financial stresses while having a child hospitalized for an extended period of time. This past year, Bell s generous financial support has made a significant difference to Hennepin Theatre Trust, and has enabled us to continue to enrich the cultural atmosphere of the Twin Cities. 5 Simpson Housing Services Every month for over fifteen years, twenty or more Bell Mortgage employees plan a menu, shop for groceries and prepare and serve a meal at Simpson Housing Services, whose mission is to house, support and advocate for people experiencing homelessness. Simpson Housing Services moved into its new office space, the Bell House, at 2100 Pilsbury Avenue South in Minneapolis, in the spring of The three-story mansion was donated to Simpson by Gary Kirt of Bell Mortgage, and houses the administrative and programming staff of the agency. The Simpson staff is extremely excited to be in the new, spacious, and beautiful home and more effective and hospitable work environment allows staff to focus on the needs of those they serve. In 2005, the company took its service commitment to a whole new level with the donation and grand opening of the Bell House at 2100 Pillsbury Ave S. in Minneapolis. The Bell House, a longanticipated change of scenery for Simpson s administrative staff, is a multipurpose, classic turn-of-the-century residence donated to Simpson Housing Services by Bell Mortgage and the Kirt Family.

Simpson Housing Services moved into its new office space, the Bell House, at 2100 Pilsbury Avenue South in Minneapolis, in the spring of 2005.

6 Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities Fund-raisers, giftcampaigns and renovations at Camp Voyageur in Mound, MN have been a consistent priority at Bell. Bell Mortgage President, Gary Kirt was a club kid and has experienced firsthand the benefits of the Boys and Girls Club as a teenager. That experience has fueled his passion for supporting the Clubs. In addition to donating countless hours of service, he has served on the Board of Directors since Fund-raisers, gift-campaigns and renovations at Camp Voyageur in Mound, MN have been a consistent priority at Bell. The camp gives many inner city children their first opportunity to get out of the city and enjoy the activities like arts and crafts, and the outdoors. Bell also gave a $100,000 donation to the Jerry Gamble Boys and Girls Club in the heart of North Minneapolis. The donation will be used to build a Kids Feeding Kids kitchen which provides club kids with a family-style meal four evenings per week.

In addition to donating countless hours of service, he has served on the Board of Directors since 1979.

7 Preservation Alliance of Minnesota A 65-foot-long muskie in Bena, Minnesota is about to come off the state s list of 10 Most Endangered Historic Places. On behalf of The Preservation Alliance of Minnesota, I sincerely thank you for your generous agreement to have Bell Mortgage as our year-end appeal challenge donor for We are proud to partner with Bell Mortgage to recognize your company s 130th anniversary in 2010 and to highlight the company s interest in historic properties to inspire others to invest in our work. Thanks to the help of Gary Kirt and Bell Mortgage, a 65-foot-long muskie on Highway 2 in Bena, Minnesota is about to come off the state s list of 10 Most Endangered Historic Places. Created in the 1950 s, the fish was originally known as the Big Muskie Drive-In. This fish was even named one of the states seven wonders.
