3 About Us Registered Charity: The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust, unlike NHS emergency services, is a Charity providing a free life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the critically ill and injured of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Each HEMS Team consists of a Pilot, a Pre-hospital Care Doctor and a Critical Care Paramedic who can be rushed to the scene of an incident with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care that is normally only found in the Hospital Emergency Department. Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed by air or land to the most appropriate hospital for their needs. It costs just over 6 million every year to cover all charitable costs and aircraft operations. Without access to National lottery funding and with only limited support from Government, we rely upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives working together funded by you! Mission Statement Our aim is to save lives, reduce or prevent disability, or suffering from critical illness and injury, by delivering a first class pre-hospital emergency medical service to the people of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Our highly skilled and specially trained Pre-hospital Care Doctors and Critical Care Paramedics work alongside our regional partners using helicopters and rapid response vehicles fitted with state-of-the-art life-saving equipment. Our clinical teams are dispatched by the East of England Ambulance Service Trust. We are here to assist everyone who lives, works, or is travelling through the region. The service is provided by the Charity free of charge to patients of all ages, from every background and faith, who require the most advanced clinical care.

As a Charity, we rely on the generous support of the people and businesses of both counties to keep our life-saving helicopters flying. That s why we work hard to ensure the very highest standards of fundraising, to build a strong and sustainable future for our work. EHAAT is a member of the Institute of Fundraising, the Fundraising Standards Board, the Gambling Commission and The Lotteries Council. We abide by, and aim to exceed, the code of conduct requirements for each of these organisations, as well as for the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Our supporters can be reassured that we put their interests at the heart of our fundraising activities. We will not share donor data with third parties or keep donor s details on file if we have been asked to remove them. Our actions are guided by our values passionate in going the extra mile, professional in treating everyone as they would wish to be treated, innovative in driving forward best clinical practice, trustworthy in working openly and honestly and dedicated because we care about the cause, our patients and each other.

6 Our History Registered Charity: The Essex Air Ambulance was established and began fundraising in The first Air Ambulance, a Bolkow 105 Db, was launched in July 1998 and operated from Boreham Airfield as a double Paramedic service. The 7-day, daylight hour service began in July In May 2003, thanks to the passion and fundraising of the County, the Charity was in a position to commission a new state-of-the-art aircraft, the Eurocopter EC135 T2. The Herts Air Ambulance Appeal was established and began fundraising in April In April 2007 the Essex Air Ambulance Charity became the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT) responsible for both the Essex, and Herts Air Ambulance Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). Doctors were introduced to the Essex Air Ambulance Crew in November 2008 to work alongside specially trained paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust, mirroring the service pioneered by London's Helicopter Emergency Medical Service. The Herts Air Ambulance service with a Pre-Hospital Care Doctor and Critical Care Paramedic team was launched on 5th November 2008 from Fairlands Valley Park, Stevenage. On 1 June 2010, Essex Air Ambulance launched a new helicopter, an MD902 Explorer, the same model as Herts Air Ambulance, both leased from Medical Aviation Services (MAS). In April 2011 the Essex Air Ambulance helicopter relocated from Boreham to Earls Colne airfield. As part of the relocation, a new Visitor Centre was created and opened in July The Herts Fundraising Team moved and is currently based at Buntingford. In August 2014 a 7-day daylight hour service was launched on both aircraft. In 2014 we conducted a 6 month trial responding to patients during the hours of darkness on Friday and Saturday nights via a rapid response vehicle. The trial proved to be successful with the Doctor/Paramedic Team making a significant difference to the outcome of patients attended during this period. We therefore plan to reinstate the extended service in the near future for the benefit of our patients as soon as EEAST are in a position to meet all Critical Care Paramedic shift requirements. The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust Charity headquarters moved into brand new premises on 16 March 2015

8 Job Description Job Title Reporting to Based at Contract Salary Herts Fundraising Manager Head of Fundraising Buntingford office, Hertfordshire Full-time/Temporary, for at least 9 months Competitive Start Date January 2016 Job Purpose Statement Responsible for developing and implementing a fundraising strategy to increase and diversify revenue streams across Hertfordshire. Working with people at all levels you will be a pro-active manager and have the communication skills to inspire staff, volunteers, corporates and the general public. Criteria Preferred: Proven experience in a fundraising role, working within good practice and fundraising law Experience of building, developing and managing successful supporter relationships Essential: Outstanding people management skills and experience Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to people at all levels Experience of organising and prioritising a demanding workload Proven track record of generating revenue Experience of working to targets and budgets Ability to work on own initiative and take a proactive approach IT literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint Full, clean driving licence Willingness to work outside of standard hours

9 Key Responsibilites 1. Work with the Head of Fundraising to develop an effective fundraising strategy and new revenue streams. 2. Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Herts Community Fundraiser to develop key fundraising initiatives in Hertfordshire. 3. Build relationships with corporate clients to secure partnerships and sponsorships in Hertfordshire. Deliver agreed targets. 4. Look to develop new business by being proactive and engaging with new contacts. Targets to be set by Head of Fundraising. 5. Manage, develop and oversee the work of the Herts Community Fundraiser, and (alongside Trust Sponsorship & Events Manager) the Herts Events and Fundraising Administrator. 6. Work closely with the Trust Sponsorship & Events Manager to ensure events are well supported. 7. Support overseas challenges - ensure revenue and attendee targets are met. Work with the Head of Fundraising to research destinations, support trekkers and attend challenges when required. 8. Deliver presentations to internal and external parties, including businesses, corporate and visitors. 9. Develop new business contacts and progress those relationships with businesses that have selected the Charity as their chosen charity of the year. 10. Oversee the Community Fundraiser to organise fundraising appeals/projects from conception through to delivery research ideas and work within agreed budgets. Ensure required income is generated. Produce evaluation reports for the Head of Fundraising. 11. Supply the Comms Team with all fundraising information so that press releases can be issued, websites, Facebook and Twitter can be updated as and when necessary. 12. Attend airbase visits for fundraisers and corporates. 13. Have a full understanding of budgets and fundraising figures. 14. Attend relevant networking events on a regular basis in order to promote the work of the Charity. 15. Understand and use the Trust donor database effectively to aid fundraising, working to guidelines distributed by the IT Administrator.
