2 SELECTED EXPERIENCE: MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT Warner Home Video (Burbank, CA, 2002 current ongoing projects) Trusted advisor to the President of Warner Home Video, EVP of Global Supply Chain Management, SVP of Strategic Projects, SVP of Business Decision Support, SVP of Sales Planning & Operations, VP of Pre-Production, General Managers of New Release, Catalog, and Franchise Business Divisions, and Managing Directors of Global Territories including EMEA, LATAM, and APAC. Led and delivered the following projects between 2002 to current (ongoing): 1. Created an Organizational Model for the President of Warner Home Video to execute to the evolving business conditions and integrate disparate business units. 2. Designing integration plan between the Studio Technical Operations unit, GDMX, Home Video, and Pre-production for the EVP of Tech-Ops. 3. For the EVP of Global Supply Chain, Dr. Dasgupta s team designed Optimal Supply Chain process, organization, metrics, and systems design for this $5B leader of Home Video, using the SCOR (Supply Chain Operational Reference) model, and Xavor Intellectual Property. 4. Led Global Rollout of Supply Chain Management Workshops and alignment of diverse group of people, processes, and technology to lay a foundation for Warner Home Video s future leaders undergo a global transformation. 5. Led Global Rollout of Sales and Operations Planning (Reconciliation of several forecast plans through an organization plan, process definition, design, and implementation of technology) 6. Designed the Supply Chain for Games as a New Market Operations plan 7. Designed the Supply Chain for Pre-production team to integrate Vendors into WHV s processes and Systems 8. Designed and supervised development of WHV s RIM solution for VMI Replenishment using Inventory Algorithms 9. Designed and supervised development for Wal-Mart s On-hands inventory project for integration with WHV systems 10. Designed and supervised development of Multi-Title disc information management system 11. Led the team that transitioned WHV s proprietary Cat-Man (Category Management) system into global solution database and decision support platform using Statistical Algorithms and ETL. Sony Pictures (Culver City, CA, 2007 October Ongoing Projects) 1. Designed an Allocation Policy for products to be distributed to the Retail stores of customers when the arrangement is that of VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory). Based on Point-of-Sales data for 800+ stores for 20 product lines over a period of 52 weeks, a rigorous set of statistical tests were performed, following which a Bayesian Algorithm for store allocation percentages re-optimized at each step, was developed and implemented.
3 Nokia (Fort Worth, TX, 2006) Led Xavor Consulting team that delivered Innovation 2006 the Nokia internal process development initiative championed by the Demand-Supply Network team. Delivered the following projects (2006): 1. VMR (Vendor Managed Replenishment): Developed VMR process framework with Wal- Mart (Project Smile) for high-volume, low-mix handset division. 2. S&OP Process: Developed process framework and facilitated diverse groups (Operations, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and IT) to work on a regular schedule for S&OP meetings, and provided tools to work with. 3. Delivered Process definitions and tool-set for the following improvement key initiatives of North America Timezone: a. Improve Product Availability b. Highly Reliable Commitments c. Improve Margins through Operations and Logistics cost reduction d. Enable New and Innovative Channel Development 4. Provided Strategic Management input on Outsourcing Manufacturing to Brazil, Mexico, and China Broadcom (Irvine, CA, 2005) 1. Led workshop on pros and cons of VMI with multi-functional team spanning Operations, Customer Service, Planning, Finance, MIS, and Sales Account management teams. 2. Leading process team, architecture team, and technology team on implementing VMI integration with Nokia using Sterling Commerce application suite. 3. Provided ROI study on Agile solution implementation to replace homegrown PLM systems. Motorola (Fort Worth, TX, 2005) 1. Led division-wide S&OP Dashboard strategic requirements spanning business users across multiple divisions including Inventory Planning, Forecasting, Sourcing, Operations Planning, Distribution and Logistics Planning teams. 2. Based on user needs, led a team of solution architects and developers to build an S&OP Dashboard to be rolled out across all divisions based on Microsoft solution stack (Analysis Server, SQL, and Proclarity acquisition) Qualcomm ( San Diego, CA, 2004) 1. Conducted strategic opportunity assessment of Supply Chain to balance offshore-onshore balance of production, distribution, order commitment, and order fulfillment
4 2. Conducted detailed requirements gathering workshops with business users for an offline, what-if analysis solution for sales planning 3. Developed solution architecture for Nexgenix solution suite for High Tech order commitment and order fulfillment using ATP (Available to Promise) and CTP (Capable to Promise) algorithms. 4. Supervised year-long solution implementation of Nexgenix solution suite until go-live. Polo (Princeton office, NJ, 2000) 1. Conducted Supply Chain Opportunity Assessment for Polo Retail spanning demand planning, merchandise planning, Promo planning, distribution planning, supply chain network, assortment planning, replenishment planning, and order fulfillment to identify $80 MM of potential savings across the global supply chain. 2. Subsequent to this study, Polo made a decision to procure i2 Technologies solution suite on Demand Planning and Supply Chain Planning with Distribution Planning Workbench. Boeing (Long Beach, CA, 1999) 1. Led a study in their Long Beach, CA C-17 division on inventory planning and management of spare parts. 2. Developed solution algorithm using Palm s algorithms on replenishing spare parts based on mission critical parts. 3. Led due diligence on behalf of i2 Technologies to consider acquisition of application providers such as Stratman, MCA solutions, and enhanced functionalities of i2 DP toolset. 4. Based on acquisition of Stratman based on my recommendations, the integrated i2 solution was implemented in Boeing C-17. Mattel (El Segundo, CA, 1998) 1. Conducted Supply Chain Opportunity Assessment for Mattel Toys in El Segundo, CA and Monterrey, Mexico operations to determine optimal production plans for pre-season planning based on highly volatile and unpredictable demand. 2. Designed Supply Chain Solution Architecture for Global Demand and Supply Planning, Forecasting, S&OP process definition, and Production Operations to position i2 Solution suite as a replacement for existing disparate legacy systems. Frito Lay ( Dallas, TX, 1998) 1. Led Presales Solution team to develop a Proof of Concept for Supply Chain and Logistics Solutions offered by i2 Technologies. 2. Developed ROI and Business Release plan for the following solution suites of i2: Demand Planning and Forecasting, Supply Chain Planning, Factory Planning, Detailed Scheduling, Supply Chain Strategist (Network Design tool), Transportation Planning, Transportation Optimizer, Load Optimizer, and Integration Platform. 3. Based on ROI delivered to the executive team, a $8 MM software license sales was realized that was implemented over two years in Frito Lay by Deloitte and Touché until go-live in 2000.
5 J C Penney (Dallas, TX, 1997) 1. Led a team of 15 members to conduct a 8-week facilitated workshop on Supply Chain Opportunity Assessment (SOA) to identify key opportunities 2. Investigation areas included Door and Store Assortment optimization, Logistics & Transportation, Distribution, Promotion Planning, Store level replenishment, and Customer Service. 3. Based on opportunities identified and associated solution mapping, J C Penney purchased $7 MM software license from i2 Technologies solution suite that was implemented over a period of two years. Texas Instruments ( Dallas, TX, 1997) 1. Member of a 5-member Pre-sales team that gathered business requirements, developed and demonstrated i2 s Factory Planner solution suite and Supply Chain Planner solution suite to engineers in TI 2. Developed POC for TI team using their data over a period of one year working across multiple groups until acceptance of High Tech semiconductor solution was achieved. 3. Based on this interactive set of demonstrative sessions, TI made the biggest Supply Chain solution purchase at the time from i2 Technologies amounting to $21 MM.
