1 CENTRALIZED BACKUP INTRODUCTION ICT Data Center houses a total number of servers and providing ICT services to UniMAP. The use of ICT is a major and important method in supporting the daily operations of the organization. To ensure that the organization's operations security, disaster recovery plan has been created. The purpose of this plan is to ensure the continuity established organization can continue operating in the event of his or restored disaster. Disaster recovery plan that had been done is by implementing centralized backup system (Centralized Backup). Centralized Backup is a major and important method of minimizing the effect of threat occurs when a disaster happened. Centralized backup is the process of making a copy of data or files to other storage media to ensure data security if the occurrence of major data corruption. BACKUP SCHEDULE Backup is done according to schedule and backup is scheduled in the periodic table. There are three categories of backups which are daily backups, weekly backups and monthly backups. i) Daily Backup - done every day after 5 pm. ii) Weekly Backups - done on every Saturday and Sunday. iii) Monthly Backup - done every three months.

The device used to backup the file system are IBM TS3100 and IBM TS3200 Tape Library. Media used to store copies of data is LTO 4 tape backup that has a maximum capacity of 1.6TB. Tape : Netvault Bare Metal Recovery (NVBMR) Protect boot and operating system, network configuration, systems, applications, disk partitions and data.
