42 Brazil Housing Program MINHA CASA MINHA VIDA HOUSING PROGRAM The Brazilian Government launched the Minha Casa Minha Vida (MCMV) ( My House, My Life ) housing program in 2009, as part of the country s Growth Acceleration Program. The program is an unprecedented initiative in the country and is based on a partnership between the Federal, State and Municipal Governments,businessmen and social movements. MCMV 1 & 2 ( ) Goal is to fund 3 million new Units For low-income families that earned up to R$ 5,000/month. Total Investments up to R$ 180 billion. The program is administered by the public Caixa Economica Federal Bank. 50 Brazil Innovation CONSTRUCTION SYSTEM The acute housing deficit and the need to meet deadlines for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympic games planned developments require a radical change in construction standards, while reinforcing the need to meet environmental guidelines.
