1 a Hej Hej, I am khaled, you will know more about me inside but here I will talk a little bit about the project and its target in general, this EVS project takes place in a small city called köping, and the main target for the project is to help the youth and make contact with them through many way just like inside the schools and the sport clubs and even during the social activity. On the other hand we all gain experience in many ways such learning Swedish, leadership and study visit and this for sure will add a lot for us in the future, even if some don t feel this change now. Most of us are working in schools teaching the children Arabic, English, French and German plus some more work like assisting in basketball or athletic or even table tennis in the club. Anyway I will leave you now to know more about the people who work here and hope to see you soon.. P.S. The arrangement of the name is according to the arrival. 2 Jag heter Basian, är 21 år och kommer från Coburg i Tyskland. Jag deltar i Europeiska volontär tjänst och jobbar för KBTK under nästan ett år. Jag spelar pingis, hjälper till med pingisen på Nibbleskolan och med nybörjar träning i Energihallen och lär ut tyska språket på Karlbergskolan. Under min fritid gillar jag att träffa vänner, spela poker och spela gitarr. A Study Visit to Mr. Urban Liwing house Jag heter Federico Marolla, 23 år, född I Italien. Jag studerade datavetenskap i min stad, Trieste, utan att sluta vid Universitetet och därefter började jag jobba. Sedan beslutade jag mig för att jobba utomlands för att få bra erfarenheter. Därför valde jag European Volunteering Service. Jag håller på med judo (nu med Köpings judo klubb) och Aikido och min andra hobby s är att lyssna på musik och resor och jag gillar också att uppleva och göra nya saker. The Study Visit Every Wednesday we make a study visit to different places in Köping and the Area around it for example visiting the fire house,the city hall, art gallery, car internal part factory, and hospitals, all of that makes us see more the Swedish community and how the system work and manage. 2

3 I am Sandra and 19 years old. I grew up in small town near Dresden in Germany. After finishing school in June 2007, I spend some time here in Köping. My project started in the middle of August and I will finish it in the middle of April I am very interested in sports so I became a member of the track and field athletic club here in town, where I help to train smaller children, too. Although, I assist in German and P.E. lessons in Scheeleskolan and I made a practical training for one and a half month in an old people s home. I like the Swedish country side and the typical Swedish houses made of wood. Although, I want to learn the Swedish language and continue speaking and learning it after my project. In October 2008 I will start my studies in Sportmanagement at a German university. So, I thing my project that includes sport prepares me for that. Hi, My name is Khaled Attalla 24 years old, I am from Alexandria City in Egypt. I have just finished my studies in business administration and Human resources in Alexandria University. I have worked a lot with NGO s in Egypt for development and youth, and this was the reason for me to join this program knowing people and how they live and work, how they think and manage their lives, and this will add for me a lot not just in my career but also in my personal life which will help me to see the people from 3

4 Another point of view and understand the reasons for what is happening around us in the world. The 2 nd part is about the sport coz I have been playing volleyball and football in Egypt which I really like and I hope that this program give me the chance to get better in those sports. Now I am working in a school assist in English and math lessons and help the new Arabic speaking student in the school and give Arabic lessons too, and I am helping in Ullvi basket and in the lunch activity in the school too. Hi, I m Hakan and 24 years old. I m from Turkey. I graduated form Science Faculty Department of Chemistry of Abant Izzet Baysal University and now I m still master student in my department. I m interested in table tennis and swimming and of course science. I wanted to become EVS volunteer in Sweden because, this is very good chance to meet a people from other countries and to get new friendships and also I wanted to know that culture and life style of Sweden and for now I m very happy in Sweden. About the city Köping is a very nice small city (nearly people are living here) with all that you need: sport areas, supermarkets, clothes stores, theater, swimming-pool, cinema, bowling... And if the city is to small for you, Västeras, Eskilstuna, Örebro are not so far away ( max. 30 minutes of Köping by train) and Stockholm is at one hour and thirty minutes of Köping. The volunteers are living in Nygard, a nice district of the city, in different flats (generally 2 person per flat). These flats are big. Every volunteer have their own room. 4

5 Hello! I am Nicolas Anaïs. I am French and come from Paris. Some words about my project: I help a French teacher some hours per week in a nice school and spend time with children during the lunch time. I help also two basket-ball coaches and a table tennis coach, Mondays to Thursdays. Generally, the morning, there are some administrative things to do in the table tennis club. Wednesdays and Thursdays at morning, I and the other volunteers have Swedish lessons and we talks about the Swedish and world news. I have decided to be volunteer because I wanted to discover a new country, learn a new language, meet people, and at the same time, work in the sport and social area. Normally my project was just to work in the table tennis club. Actually, my EVS give me more than I could imagine. I never planned to work in a school. In fact, I really like to work here, to help the children during the French lessons, and make different activities (sport, music,games, or just talk...) with them during the lunch time. My name is Elke, I am a 20 year old girl from Germany. At the moment, I am living in Sweden where I am doing my European volunteer service. I help language teachers in the school nearby and I do some work in the table tennis club. After I have graduated from high school, I travelled a lot, mainly to France, because I love this country. So I can speak German, French and English and I want to learn Swedish as soon as possible. When my EVS will be finished, I would like to study german-french studies in France to work, one day, in the cooperation between France and Germany. 5
