Specific areas of focus include the development and validation of psychosocial measures related to the Transtheoretical Model of behavior change and predictors of child/adolescent weight status. Co-chair, Washington State University Adolescent Health Initiative, August 2007 to present -The WSU Adolescent Health Initiative is a collection of faculty researchers dedicated to advancing science in the field of adolescent health research. Responsibilities include recruitment of faculty for the initiative, organizing and presiding over Fall and Spring forums, identifying appropriate funding sources. Collaborator, TEAMS Research Project -Work on study funded by United States Department of Agriculture that evaluates the impact of school-based intervention at six middle schools. Responsibilities include designing the motivational interviewing protocol, assessing treatment fidelity, and dissemination of findings. Research Rotation, Cincinnati Children s Hospital Medical Center, July 2006 to July Work on randomized controlled trial study examining the effectiveness of an intervention designed to treat pediatric obesity in children ages three to five years. Responsibilities included IRB application preparation, data collection, study design, and manuscript preparation. Research Mentor: Lori J.
