Among other work Caritas has prevention education and awareness programmes for children in schools, and youths in parishes, rehabilitation programmes for drug users and their families and for prisoners with a drug problem, it organizes counselling and social work intervention to individuals and families, has various support groups and social clubs for the elderly. It aims to raise awareness of the aspirations, yearnings and cultural trends and values of the world in which we live. The institute offers consultancy services to Church bodies and other organizations. It has published studies on various topics, such as emigration and asylum seekers, domestic abuse, and violence in Maltese society.
