7 Candidates who fall within the limited number plus the next 25% (of the limited number of students) shall be called in for an interview. The final ranking shall be made on the totalling of the scores acquired in the initial ranking plus the mark acquired for the interview. Applicants in terms of the 'maturity clause' will be required to sit for a written test to be held in the second week of August. Successful applicants will then be ranked. Those falling within the available number of applicants accepted for the interview will be called for the interview during the first two weeks of September. These dates cannot be changed. 24 The University's academic year is divided in two semesters: the first semester runs from October to January, whilst the second semester runs from February to May.
