1 Mission Statement To promote intercultural exchange and volunteerism by offering people an opportunity to give back their resources by taking part in or getting involved in positive activities that promote personal/society/community development and sustainability Objectives To organize, prepare and co-ordinate local and international work camps, medium term volunteer program, internship and youth exchange programs in collaboration with other CBOs, NGOs Government and other players in the civil society. To promote the spirit of voluntary service amongst the youth and women by engaging them in community development initiatives. To promote joint programs with other organization(s) or networks on issue of mutual concern for social-economic development in Kenya and the outside world. To facilitate capacity building among our members and communities by organizing training workshops in areas of resource mobilization, leadership and organization development To raise, mobilize funds and other necessary resources for the promotion of PIVS objectives and its sustainability. Vision To be the leading volunteer/internship organization in Africa Eligibility Volunteers must be 18 years old. All volunteers are required to speak English well enough to communicate and carry out the project activities. Volunteers are also encouraged to learn Kiswahili. It will be very much welcomed by the local people because It s much easier to communicate with local people and children in the project. Each volunteer should be motivated to complete their assigned projects successfully and have a heart willing to learn about Kenya and the local cultures. Open mind and enthusiasm Orientation and Evaluation

2 Upon arrival in Kenya, there is a mandatory 1 day orientation before going to the project site. Through this arrival orientation, we hope that volunteers will be encouraged to remain active during whole period of project and will gain the confidence to explore the local area by themselves. During the project, there is a mid-evaluation in order to share experience and stories among volunteers and have a fun for our solidarity. After finish the project, there is a final evaluation in order to finally look back and revive the meaning of the experiences.
