Houston, Texas) Civil engineering designer on heavy industrial structures, foundations and site erection in chemical plants and refineries (Conoco, Houston Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah) Architectural and structural designer of new company facilities worldwide. Completed the Continental Oil Company management training course. Worked for fourteen months as Construction and Maintenance Superintendent responsible for Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington, Oregon and Nevada (T.J. Houston, Tehran, Lavan Island, Cairo, Ras Shukeir) Project Engineer on numerous projects including the engineering study, design, cost estimate and presentation of a three-berth supertanker handling facility in the Humber River Estuary, England; the design,negotiation, site studies and construction commencement of a quarried-stone breakwater and rock-filled, sheet piled supply boat quay at Lavan Island, on the Persian Gulf; and site studies and initiation of site work for the initial development of El Morgan Field,in the Gulf of Suez. Responsibilities during this period included the design of the initial El Morgan platforms and platform piping systems as well as the design of extensive modifications to the four petroleum products piers at the Shell Deer Park, Texas, refinery. This project was postponed when the project team discovered the extent and severity of general area subsidence.

Co-authored a historical review of offshore platforms in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico commissioned by a major non-u.s. oil company as well as a detailed design and cost estimate for a pipeline system with nine design alternatives for the Exxon Zinc Field in the Gulf of Mexico 1988 (H & H Mining Company, Houston and Brazil) Planned and performed alluvial surveys over a 250 mile long mining concession on the Rio Maderia, Amazonas, Brazil for a Brazilian mining company. Served as General Manager of the client company later in this period, and designed and supervised construction of a mining and processing barge at Manaus (Consultant) Performed consulting services for the successful suit by plaintiff for damages concerning the explosion and fire at SP-60B which resulted in the largest settlement for damages in the history of the offshore oil and gas industry.
