17 : As part of my NSF-supported doctoral dissertation research, I analyzed faunal materials from pithouse and pueblo period archaeological sites in the Mimbres Valley, New Mexico, and I prepared them for curation. These materials come from the Old Town site, excavated by Darrell G. Creel of the Texas Archaeological Research Laboratory, Austin, and from several sites excavated by the Mimbres Foundation, directed by Steven A. LeBlanc : I analyzed small mammal remains from the Barton Gulch Paleoindian site, central Montana, excavated by Leslie B. Davis of the Museum of the Rockies, Bozeman. 1998: I analyzed faunal materials collected from packrat middens in the Bonneville Basin (eastern Great Basin) by David Rhode, Desert Research Institute, Reno, Nevada : As research for my Masters Degree project, I analyzed faunal materials from the Mogollon Village pithouse site in southwestern New Mexico. This analysis included materials excavated by the 1993 University of Washington Field School directed by Angela R. Linse and materials recovered during two field seasons by the Mogollon Village Archaeological Project, directed by Patricia A. Gilman, University of Oklahoma, and Raymond R. Mauldin, University of Texas at San Antonio : I analyzed faunal materials from the Sunshine Locality Paleoarchaic site, central-eastern Nevada. Project directors were Charlotte Beck and George T. Jones of Hamilton College, New York. Taxa identified include extinct late Pleistocene large mammals. 1996: I analyzed faunal remains from the excavation of two pueblo sites in the vicinity of Paquimé in northern Chihuahua, Mexico. Project directors were Paul E. Minnis, University of Oklahoma, and Michael E. Whalen, University of Tulsa : I analyzed faunal materials from the Indian Creek Paleoindian site, central Montana, excavated by Leslie B. Davis, Museum of the Rockies, Bozeman : Laboratory supervisor and research assistant, University of Washington Zooarchaeology Laboratory. I assisted in the identification of faunal materials from the Homestead Cave paleontological site, northern Bonneville Basin, Utah, under the supervision of Donald K. Grayson. The purpose of this project was to provide a detailed paleoenvironmental record for this portion of the Great Basin and to address questions about mammalian biogeography.
