1 A Step by Step Guide to GWTG-Resuscitation Certification/Recertification Testing 1. Go to Get With The Guidelines-Resuscitation website. Click on Join Us We ll Tell You How 2. Click on #5 Register on the AHA Professional Education website 3. Read the information provided regarding system requirements to take the exam. 4. To register for the 2015 Get With The Guidelines-Resuscitation Data Abstractor exam, find the course in the Activities Catalog and click on the red Register button. 5. Follow instructions to log into and register for the exam in the AHA Professional Education Site. 6. If you have any problem with registration or with the program please contact: Professional Education Help desk at or at Part I - Get With The Guidelines - Resuscitation: Data Abstractor Training and Certification Program Practice Test a. Follow the tabs from Left to Right and complete all sections. The system will provide prompts as you progress and will require completion of one tab before allowing access to the next one. b. After completing your Get With The Guidelines-Resuscitation - Practice Test, follow the step by step instructions through each tab. 1

2 i. Post-Assessment Tab After your Practice Test displays as Passed, click on the View button and a Next Steps window will open. Click on the link in grey text that reads Click here leading to your next steps in the certification and the practice test rationale. ii. Claim Credit Tab Access the hyperlink to see a set of instructions in pdf format. Make sure to print a copy of the Practice Test with Rationales from this pdf and MAKE A NOTE OF THE ACCESS CODE in the 6 th bullet within that same pdf. You must have this code to access the certification exam. iii. Certificate Tab - Open this tab and click on the certificate titled NONACCR. This will open the practice exam you took and will give you your grade, the correct answers and the answer you selected will be in italics. c. Exit Part I. Now, Part II Get With The Guidelines Resuscitation (GWTG-R): Data Abstractor Training and Certification Program-Certification Exam should be available in your Activities in Progress which you can find at the top of the window right below the AHA logo. Click on the title for the 2015 Part II exam to launch the registration Process 2

3 8. Part II - Get With The Guidelines - Resuscitation: Data Abstractor Training and Certification Program-Certification Exam a. Once you have launched the registration process for Part II. You will see this screen: b. Please read the Activity Information section carefully. When you are ready click on the red Resume button c. The next screen that will appear is You will need the access code listed in the instructions following the Practice Exam to continue. For convenience the code again is, in all lowercase: gwtgcertification d. After entering access code the next screen is: 3

4 e. Please carefully read the instructions and progress through the tabs by clicking the button at the bottom of each page. i. Activity Material Tab you have the option to print the scenarios used for the exam from this tab. This will allow you to review the scenarios carefully prior to accessing the exam ii. Post Assessment Tab- Click on launch when you are ready to access the test. You can save the test and finish later or submit the exam if you have answered the questions. NOTE: All questions are required. When you click yes on the last question the test will be automatically graded and you will receive results. Do not click yes until you are ready for the test to be graded! DO NOT CLICK ON SUBMIT UNTIL YOU HAVE CLICKED ON YES TO THIS QUESTION! iii. Each question will either be marked with correct or incorrect. A score of 95% (1 missed question) is required. Make a note of all incorrect questions. Click on submit once you have reviewed the correct and incorrect questions f. If you successfully completed the exam skip to h. If unsuccessfully completed two additional attempts may be made. You are able to review your last attempt by clicking on the View button and the program will tell you the number of attempts remaining. Click on Launch when you are ready to attempt the exam again. 4

5 g. If you are unable to see the number of attempts remaining click on the down arrow in the gray area beside the word Assessment h. If you unsuccessfully completed the exam on the 3 rd attempt skip to i. Upon successfully completing the exam you will see passed appear beside Assessment. i. Click on Launch to see your next steps. A new page will appear and you will need to click on the blue text to see your next steps. NOTE: Quintiles will be notified that you have completed the exam and are eligible to attend the Patient Management Tool (PMT) training and obtain your user name and password. You will need to call Quintiles Help Desk extension 2 to schedule your training. Please allow 3 business days after you pass your exam prior to contacting the help desk to ensure all the appropriate notifications have occurred. 5

6 j. Prior to closing out of the testing site please make sure you have claimed credit for the course and have saved your certificate as proof of completion. k. If you are unsuccessful following the 3 rd attempt you will not be able to abstract data for GWTG- Resuscitation. Please contact your local QSI Director.
