2 Urban/Title One Elementary School Our student population has increased by more than 80 in less than one school year currently 520 We are an A school. We are in year 3 of our Medical Grant.

4 Partnership with Lastinger Center at the University of Florida Teacher Inquiry began in 2008 Last year we had 100% participation in the District-wide Teacher Showcase. This fall we held our own Teacher and Student Showcase. Student Inquiry began in Spring 2011

15 Spring 2012 Ms. Nassau and Mrs. Wright (apprentice) Student groups had a choice of 7 tribes. Groups 3-4 students Group Organization Spring 2013 Mrs. Wright Student groups had to research the Timucua. Groups 2-4 students Group Organization Captain and a researcher.
16 Each group selected 5 of the following 15 topics: Communication/Language, Homes, Physical Appearance, Religion/Rituals, Food Resources, Government, Games, Medicine, Where are they now?, Weapons, Clothes, Roles of men a women, Artifacts, Families, Children Oral presentation each week to discuss learning. One topic per group. 5 paragraph paper, presentation board and an oral presentation. Student created PowerPoints and Blabberize videos. Class debate about whether men or women worked harder in the Timucuan Society. Research papers written for each topic presentation board. Compare how the Native People lived to how we live today. Create artifacts based on learning.
