11 Spring City: Our Story From the Beginning At the onset, we believed that Hybrid Learning = Technology But quickly realized that Hybrid Learning Technology. Hybrid Learning = Instruction Instruction & Technology Intersection Instruction is the cornerstone of the Hybrid model Technology is the tool/conduit to the Instructional Program Technology fosters student engagement in the instruction Engaged Students + Staff Instructional Expertise + Digital Content = Individualized Instruction & Individualized Learning

12 Evaluating and Choosing Digital Content Instruction as our Foundation Exploration of Content began Digital Content Options were provided. RUBRIC INCLUDES: General Curriculum Assessment Reporting Technology Implementation Professional Development Grade level, subject areas and named courses Scope & sequence, alignment to standards, curriculum development approach, lesson type and content pathways Alignment to curriculum and standards, flexibility in assignment and creation, and scoring Configurability, delivery format, and frequency Delivery of content, single sign-on, provisioning and reporting Hardware set-up, bandwidth requirements, and initial student load/registration Requirements, recommendations and online resources available to support the school Digital Content was vetted by all stakeholders (including teachers)

13 Three Models Rotation: Lab Rotation: Classroom Flex Student groups rotate between traditional classroom instruction and online instruction in a computer or learning lab. Lab monitored by an instructional aide rather than certified teacher. Student groups rotate between traditional classroom instruction and online instruction within the classroom. Classroom overseen by certified teachers, apprentice teachers, and instructional aides. Students learn primarily online in a brick and mortar school location. Teachers act as facilitators.

14 Our Structure Next Structure Instructional Program Structure (Rotate in Classroom) was established Which lead to Synergy - Aligning Curriculum Components Lesson Plans Standard/Common Core Digital Content/Resources Assessments - Professional Development - Vital Component - Implementation - Built upon a community of learning with the buy-in of all stakeholders - Evaluation
