1 Configuring Internet Explorer for Voyager on Client Computers You must configure Microsoft Internet Explorer settings on each of your client computers so that your users can properly access and operate Voyager. You can modify certain settings associated with browser security, privacy, content, and storage-cache. Web browser settings that affect Internet/intranet security must be carefully determined, according to the security policies of your organization. For more information, contact your Web or system administrator. The illustrations and settings in this procedure are based on Microsoft Internet Explorer 8. Differences between Internet Explorer versions are identified in the text. The Internet Explorer settings in this procedure apply specifically to client computers that connect to Voyager Web sites. If any client computers in your organization are used to access sites (Internet and intranet) other than Voyager, contact your system, network, or Web site administrator to determine the correct browser configuration and security settings for your organization. Certain Internet Explorer add-ins, application plug-ins (for example, Skype), and external-content toolbars may cause conflicts with Voyager. You may need to reset and/or disable some of the associated Internet Explorer settings to resolve these issues. For more information, contact Yardi technical support. To configure Internet Explorer for Voyager on client computers 1 Start the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser on the client computer.

2 Configuring Internet Explorer for Voyager on Client Computers 2 From the top menu or the toolbar (depending on your Internet Explorer screen format), select Tools > Internet Options. The Internet Options screen appears, displaying the General tab. 3 In the Browsing history section, click Delete. The Delete Browsing History screen appears. 4 Do one of the following steps, depending on the browser version that you are using:

Configuring Internet Explorer for Voyager on Client Computers 3 c c For Internet Explorer 8, select the Temporary Internet files check box, and then click Delete. For Internet Explorer 7, in the Temporary Internet Files field, click Delete files. When the confirmation request appears, click Yes. Storage or removal of the remaining browsing-history items on the screen can affect your browser s operation and Internet security. For more information and policies in your organization, contact your system or network administrator. For Voyager setup and troubleshooting purposes, Yardi technical support may direct you to delete some of these other browsing-history items. For more information, contact Yardi technical support. 5 On the General tab, in the Browsing history section, click Settings. The Temporary Internet Files and History Settings screen appears. 6 In the Temporary Internet Files section, select Every time I visit the webpage. This option configures Internet Explorer to search the Web page cache for newer versions of the page with every visit to the Voyager Web site. 7 In the History section, in the Days to keep pages in history field, type or select 5. 8 Click OK.

4 Configuring Internet Explorer for Voyager on Client Computers 9 Click the Security tab. 10 Select the Internet zone. If a browser plug-in or Web site has already modified your Internet Explorer settings, the security-level slider may not be available on this tab. In this case, click the Default Level button (if available) to temporarily reset security for the zone that you want to set up. If you use a local intranet to access the Voyager Web server, or you need to specify any trusted or restricted sites, contact your system administrator for any custom zone-security settings. 11 Move the slider to the Medium-high setting. 12 Click Apply. 13 Select the Trusted Sites zone. 14 Move the slider to the Low setting.

Configuring Internet Explorer for Voyager on Client Computers 5 15 Click Sites. The Trusted sites screen appears. 16 Select the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box. 17 In the Add this website to the zone field, type the full address (URL) of your Voyager Web site (for example, https://www.myvoyagerwebserver.com). 18 Click Add. The trusted Web site appears in the Websites field. 19 Repeat this procedure, as needed, to add any other Voyager Web servers that you use in your organization, business unit, or area. Add only those server sites that you want this client computer to access. 20 Click Close.

6 Configuring Internet Explorer for Voyager on Client Computers 21 Click the Privacy tab. 22 In the Settings section, move the slider to Medium. This configures Internet Explorer cookie security to operate correctly with Voyager. 23 Click Apply. 24 Click the Content tab.

Configuring Internet Explorer for Voyager on Client Computers 7 25 In the AutoComplete section, click Settings. The AutoComplete Settings screen appears. 26 In the Use AutoComplete for section, do one of the following steps, depending on the browser version that you are using: c For Internet Explorer 8, select the Address bar, Browsing history, Favorites, and Forms check boxes. The remaining Address bar autocomplete settings are optional. c For Internet Explorer 7, select the Web addresses and Forms check boxes. These options configure Internet Explorer to auto-complete any Web addresses or form names from previously added and cached information. 27 Click OK. The User names and passwords on forms option can affect Web, browser, network, and computer security. Before activating this option, you should carefully consider the effects on your Internet/intranet security. For more information, contact your system or network administrator.

8 Configuring Internet Explorer for Voyager on Client Computers 28 Click the Advanced tab.
