SuperValu Car Insurance FAQs 1. What discounts are available? As well as offering you low cost car insurance from only 285*, we ll also give you a 10% discount for being a SuperValu Real Rewards customer, both online and when you call us on 1890 719 425. We believe that is very fair. We will also give you up to 30% with the XLNTdriver app from our underwriters AIG. *Car Insurance is available from just 285. This price excludes the government imposed levy and applies to a wide range of quotations. Figure based upon comprehensive insurance for a 49 year old accountant and spouse, living in Dublin 6 West, 10 year licence, 6 years no claims bonus, 6 years claims free, Driving 2010 Volkswagen Golf 1.4 Litre (1398cc) Petrol, worth 11,500k for Social Domestic & Pleasure. Excludes optional extras. Minimum premium of 285 + levy applies. Stepback cover and windscreen cover included. Example correct as of 1/06/15. 2. How do I receive my Real Rewards vouchers? You will receive your vouchers by text message within a month of you buying a policy. Details on how to redeem them will be included in the text message. 3. Do I pay administration fees? No, we don t believe you should have to pay additional administration fees just to make simple changes to your policy. If you ve ever been charged an administration fee for changing or even taking out your car insurance we re sure you ll agree. 4. How is my No Claims bonus affected? If you have SuperValu Car Insurance and need to claim because of fire, theft, or broken glass it won t affect your No Claims Bonus. We also offer optional Step Back protection on your insurance so even if you need to claim for something else, you ll never lose your entire discount. 5. Is my Windscreen covered? Yes, damage to your windscreen is one of those frustrations that everyone can do without. We ll replace it without any fuss. 6. Can I drive abroad? Yes, we provide up to 60 days cover to you if you want to bring your car to Europe. 7. Can I drive other cars? Yes, when you take out insurance with us we ll give you automatic third party insurance to drive someone else s car. 8. Are possessions in my car protected? We will provide replacement up to 300 for personal possessions like handbags or wallets.

9. What happens if my car breaks down? We provide Breakdown Assist as standard on all of our Car Insurance policies And, if you need to claim, we re available 24hrs a day on (01) 8720179. If your car keys are lost or stolen we will pay up to 500 towards the cost of replacement keys and reprogramming locking devices, door and boot locks and ignition steering lock. 10. How do I make a Car Insurance Claims If you d like to make a claim, the SuperValu Motor Claims Service is available immediately to take your call. Our offices are open every weekday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. but claims may be notified 24 hours a day on 01 8599700. A standard excess of 250 applies to SuperValu Car Insurance. 11. What happens after I call? After you ve notified us of a claim, we will issue a Claim Form for completion & signing. You can also download the relevant form at http://www.aig.ie/claims. 12. When should I register a claim? It s very important that claims are registered quickly. You must register any claim as soon as reasonably possible (and certainly no later than 7 days). If you do not, we may not be able to pay your claim. 13. Where do I send my claim? If you need to make a claim, please either write with a brief description of your claim or phone our underwriters at: AIG Claims Service 30 North Wall Quay International Financial Services Centre Dublin 1 Phone: 01 8599700 To help us prevent fraudulent claims, AIG will store the insured person s personal details on computer and may transfer them to a third party.

XLNTdriver Insurance 1. What is XLNTdriver app? AIG XLNTdriver is a free Smartphone App used in conjunction with our car insurance. It is used to record your journeys and provides you with a visual representation of your journeys, together with a score. The overall score allows you to gain an improved discount on your car insurance of up to 30% in total. AIG XLNTdriver provides customers with a great new way of saving money on their car insurance*. By helping you better understand your driving behaviour and what could affect your insurance premium, you can save up to 30% on the cost of your car insurance premium when you download and use the app. The AIG XLNTdriver app offers you real time information on your driving, gives you a score for each completed journey and allows you to track your progress toward additional discounts and receive offers on your policy. 2. How does the XLNTdriver app work? AIG XLNTdriver works by monitoring your driving behaviour, helping you to take control of your driving. The app periodically relays your data to us so that we can build an accurate picture of your driving behaviour. This means that we can give you additional discounts based upon how well you actually drive. 3. What features does it have? Your AIG XLNTdriver app features unique auto start/stop technology. This means that, unlike other driving apps, you don t need to click to start recording each journey. Here are more of its smart features: Simple install and register activation Intelligent mapping that won t interfere with your use of the phone Breakdown assistance Smart technology when on the move 4. How can I improve my score? The AIG XLNTdriver app is designed to reward safe driving behaviours. Avoid things like harsh braking, excessive speed, distractions like phone calls and driving long distance without breaks. 5. Can I still get the standard benefits from my policy? All of our XLNTdriver customers are entitled to the full range of policy benefits available on our standard Car Insurance policy. 6. How do I get the XLNTdriver app? The first step to saving with XLNTdriver is to get a quote from us. If you ve more questions you can refer to AIG s dedicated FAQ page or call SuperValu Insurance directly on 1890 719 425 - We ll be happy to talk you through the benefits and help you with any queries you have. Please note downloading and using the XLNTdriver app is a condition of your insurance. This means you qualify for the 30% discount.

*To be eligible for the XLNTdriver app you must have purchased a SuperValu Car Insurance premium for 350 or more. Minimum premium for our standard SuperValu Car Insurance is 285 + Levy. Your road traffic act certificate & disc will be sent to you when you ve downloaded and used the app. 7. Does AIG XLNTdriver provide evidence of my car insurance? Downloading, installing and using AIG XLNTdriver is not evidence of a car insurance policy. You will still need to refer to your Motor Insurance Certificate as evidence of a current and valid car insurance policy. 8. How much will the App cost? The App is free to download. You can only use the app when you take out an XLNTdriver car insurance policy with SuperValu Insurance. 9. Can all phones download AIG XLNTdriver App? No. You need either an iphone or an Android phone. For the iphone, it needs to be a 3GS or later, and for Android, it needs to be on version 2.2 (Froyo) or later. For Android you will also need to ensure that your phone is a smartphone and is able to use the in-built GPS. Please note downloading and using the XLNTdriver app is a condition of your insurance this means you qualify for a discount of up to 30%. 10. Do I have to be with a certain mobile network to be able to use the App? No, the App s performance shouldn t be dependent on which network you are with. 11. How do I download AIG XLNTdriver? You can download AIG XLNTdriver from the Google Play Store and the Apple itunes Store. 12. How do I login? If this is the first time you have used the AIG XLNTdriver App you will need to create your account. To do this tap on the create a new account. Input your email address, a password (minimum of 8 characters and to include at least one number), the policy number and the car registration. Select whether or not you are the policyholder. Make sure that you have read and accepted our Terms and Conditions and then click create account. You can then login using those details. 13. Do I need to log in all the time? No. Once you have logged in AIG XLNTdriver will keep you logged in. 14. I am changing my phone; can I move my journeys to my new phone? Yes, simply download and install the AIG XLNTdriver App on your new phone and use the original email address associated with AIG XLNTdriver App to sign in again. If you have forgotten the password you used when you first registered you can get the password reset using the in-app feature. Please remember to ensure that your old phone is completely reset to factory conditions before disposing of it. 15. How do I use AIG XLNTdriver? Once you ve installed the AIG XLNTdriver App, it works in the background. Just take your phone with you and make sure your GPS is switched on. If your GPS is switched off you will receive a notification to remind you to activate your GPS. It will record your journey every time you exceed a distance of 0.8 Km and reach a speed of at least 8Km/h, so it doesn t matter what car you are in.

16. How do I switch on the auto start/stop detection? We have enabled auto start/stop by default. We recommend that you retain the auto start/stop function of the AIG XLNTdriver App. This means that when you go on a journey you don t have to interact with your phone to start/stop recording journeys. 17. Do I need to use a charger? No but running any App consumes power. As your phone will also be using GPS it means that your battery will be draining quicker than normal. While you don t need to use a charger, using a car charger is often a convenient way to stay powered. 18. What happens if I get a phone call? The App continues to record your journey while you deal with a phone call. Please remember it is an offence under the Road Traffic Acts to hold your mobile phone while driving. Use appropriate equipment (Bluetooth or Hands-Free) if you must answer your phone call. 19. What if I am not driving and AIG XLNTdriver records a journey? If you are not driving and your journey has been recorded then you can tell us via the App. Go into the specific journey and click on modify this journey. This allows you to tell us how you undertook the journey. Select the appropriate method (passenger, train, bus, etc.) and then click save. 20. What if I am having difficulties with the AIG XLNTdriver App? If you are having difficulties using the AIG XLNTdriver App or require any further information then you can contact us at XLNTdriver.ie@aig.com. In the first instance if the App is not functioning, or you have any general issues with your phone, we suggest that you power off and on your phone. We can only provide support for the AIG XLNTdriver App and suggest that you contact your phone manufacturer or network provider if the issue is not specific to our AIG XLNTdriver App. 21. Why doesn t AIG XLNTdriver record my entire journey? We have used the latest technologies to enable us to bring you the automated start/stop. We are using this to determine when you are on the move. There are a number of conditions that affect when your journey will start and end. We know that this means that part of your journey may be missing but that is OK. We analyse your driving behaviours and then use those details to provide you with your overall score, so whilst 100% of every journey would be ideal, your entire journey isn t necessary for us to score your driving behaviour. 22. What happens if I forget my phone? We don t expect you to remember your phone for every journey you undertake. Missing the occasional journey will not greatly affect your overall score. We require you to complete a minimum of 500Kms in the first 90 days of your policy. This then allows us to reward you based upon your overall score. You should continue using the App all the time we provide you with car insurance. 23. Why hasn t AIG XLNTdriver recorded my journey? On occasions due to circumstances beyond all controls the AIG XLNTdriver App may not have recorded a journey. We analyse your driving behaviours and then use those details to provide you with your overall score, so whilst every journey would be ideal, all of your journeys aren t necessary for us to score your driving behaviour. However, if this is a persistent issue check that GPS is enabled on your phone before you report it to us by email to XLNTdriver.ie@aig.com so we can investigate it for you.

24. What does my AIG XLNTdriver score mean? A score between 0 100 is representative of how you drive. Your driving behaviours are compared to that of an advanced driver and you are scored accordingly. A better score shows how more closely your driving behaviours reflect that of an advanced driver and vice versa. As well as having an overall score, your score will also be categorized into four different categories which are: Smooth Driving, Mobile Usage, Speed and Time Component. 25. Are there any further tips? Try and avoid braking hard. Sometimes it can t be helped but gentle braking shows good anticipation of traffic flows. Try and avoid accelerating hard. Drive within the posted speed limits. Besides being illegal, driving above the speed limit will be detrimental to your score. Drive in pace with other traffic. Leave yourself adequate distance from the vehicle in front to provide you with more time to react to changing conditions. Drive Safely. Research has shown that driving well is synonymous with driving safely. Being a safe driver will increase your score. Above all, drive safely and in accordance with the rules of the road. 26. Will my Premium increase if I score badly? We will not apply any increased premium based upon your score. We do, however, reward good driving based upon the overall score you attain. 27. What discounts are available? We will give you a guaranteed additional 5% discount on your premium, on top of any other discount that we may offer from time to time, for just using the AIG XLNTdriver App. We then look at your score 90 days after the policy inception and based upon that score (and subject to a minimum number of journeys and travelled distance of 500Kms) we may give you an extra discount. The discount is applied to the original premium at policy inception. It is also subject to the Terms and Conditions as updated from time to time. Our decision regarding any discount offered is final in all cases and no correspondence will be entered into. Your Road Traffic Act Certificate will be sent to you when you have downloaded and used the app. 28. What about Renewal Discount Based upon your score at day 300 following your policy inception date we may provide you a discount on you renewal premium at your car insurance policy renewal date to continue using the AIG XLNTdriver App. If you do not use the App during the period your policy is in force we may apply a default score which may not entitle you to a discount. All discounts are subject to you using the AIG XLNTdriver App on a regular basis. It is also subject to the Terms and Conditions you have accepted. Our decision regarding any discount offered is final in all cases and no correspondence will be entered into

29. What if I do not agree with my Score? We do not investigate an individual score. We use the overall score to calculate any displayed discounts. The overall score takes account of minor incidents that may have occurred on individual journeys and provides an overall picture of your driving behaviours over a period of time. Our decision is final in all cases and no correspondence will be entered into. 30. What data are you going to collect? Once the App is activated, data will be collected to analyse your driving style. This includes the time, date, phone status (i.e. in use or being moved) and identity, network state, your location as defined by GPS co-ordinates, the battery state and accelerometer information. This information will be used to build up a profile of how, where and when your vehicle is being driven. 31. What will you do with the data you collect? We will analyse the data we collect to build a picture of driving behaviours. We hope to use this data to reward our customers with better and cheaper insurance. We may contact you in the event of a serious incident to determine if you require any assistance. For more details, please refer to the Terms & Conditions. 32. Who will be able to view my driving information? Only AIG and The Floow, the provider of the App, will have access to your driving information. For full details, please refer to the Terms & Conditions. 33. Will my information be shared with other organizations? We will not share your personal data with any other party, except where we are legally obligated to do, or where you, our customer, has given us your consent. 34. How secure is my data? AIG will take appropriate technical, physical, legal and organizational measures to keep your data secure, which are consistent with applicable privacy and data security laws. 35. How much memory/space will the App need? The size of the memory and space required in order to operate the AIG XLNTdriver App will vary depending on the phone that you have. When installed, the App will use approximately 12Mb of storage for Android and 21Mb of storage for IOS. There is also a requirement that you have sufficient storage space in order to save and transmit the journey data. You will also require temporary storage space for downloading and displaying journey and score data. This will vary depending on the type and amount of data required to show your data. 36. How much memory is required to save my driving data? A typical daily commute journey of one hour each way uses about the same amount of space as a digital photo (approximately 2.3Mb). In order to protect your data it is deleted from your mobile phone after transmission. 37. What if my phone doesn t have enough space to record my journeys? If your phone is low on space it will more than likely affect not just the AIG XLNTdriver App but how your phone works overall. We suggest that you consult with your phone manufacturer or network provider for details of how to clear down unused applications and/or move data to another device(s) in order to have more space available on your phone.

38. How often does the App send data? The App will send data throughout your journey. If it can t, then it will save it and send the journey data next time you connect to either a 3G/4G mobile network or via Wi-Fi. Network data costs will vary by network, but may be covered by many contracts. We are not responsible for any data charges that you may incur for using the AIG XLNTdriver App. Please consult your own network data provider for advice regarding any costs that may be incurred. If you like, data transmission restrictions can be applied in Preferences to restrict data uploads to Wi-Fi only.
