Situation in Croatia: - No governmental support for PV FITs stopped after 30 MW installed, high connection costs - FIT for wind energy stopped after 400 MW installed, even though 400 MW more is underway - New financing models needed that would bypass State not depend on it; - Citizens very interested for renewables, and willing to invest 3 3
Energy cooperatives project Organized 20 seminars across Croatia, developed web site, Manual on setting up energy coops; International conference 100% renewable energy on islands in cooperation with REScoop project; As a result, in 2013, ten energy coops started in Croatia All energy coops are in early stage, and new financing new business models needed; Focus of cooperatives: biomass, PV, electro mobility, biogas, wind, energy efficiency in buildings 4

80 participants (10 Croatian energy cooperatives and REScoop members from all over EU) 9 Recommendations to the government Recommendation: Allowing construction of wind turbines on islands - accepted by the government 9
Recommendations for development of community power in Croatia: - 25% local ownership for projects above 500 kw - Net metering for small PVs - Special quota for support of community RES - Decreasing connection costs for small PVs 20.5.2015. 10 10
