) FIRMA is pleased to sponsor a two-day Current Risk Issues Seminar in Charlotte, NC, on September 17 & 18, 2015. This seminar features lectures from recognized industry experts and topics specifically covering current fiduciary risk issues. The program content is designed to benefit risk management professionals at all skill levels, including fiduciary risk managers and executives, as well as audit managers and fiduciary compliance professionals. This program will provide seven (7.0) continuing education hours. Our first day program will begin with Brian Munn, Large Bank Supervision Examiner, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Brian will provide an update on OCC initiatives and current examination findings in bank fiduciary activities. Following Brian, we welcome Kevin Walsh. Kevin is a partner with the respected Groom Law Group in Washington, DC. Kevin will provide an always valuable update on current ERISA issues, including coverage of the DOL s proposed revised definition of an ERISA fiduciary. We will end the afternoon with a discussion on Taking the Risk Out of Life Insurance Trusts, with Michael Brohawn CFP, CLU and Leon Wessels, both from ITM TwentyFirst, a life insurance policy management firm from Cedar Falls, Iowa. The discussion will focus on real life methods of mitigating liability with this complex, sometimes cumbersome asset. Following our Thursday sessions, FIRMA is proud to host a Welcome Reception for all attendees and speakers, from 5:45 to 6:45pm. Our reception will be held at our host hotel, the Holiday Inn Charlotte Center City. Dress is casual. The Holiday Inn is just a few blocks from Fifth Third Bank. On Friday, September 18th, we begin our morning with Tim Keehan. Tim is Vice President & Senior Counsel with the American Bankers Association in Washington, DC. Tim will provide a not-to-miss update on current trust legislative issues. Following Tim, we welcome Dom Campisi. Dom is Founding Partner with the distinguished San Francisco law firm of Evans, Latham, & Campisi, PC. Dom will provide an alwaysentertaining update on current fiduciary litigation cases, rulings, and preparedness. We will conclude our program with Kit Addleman, Partner with the respected Dallas law firm of Haynes and Boone LLP. Kit will provide attendees with an overview and SEC focus of recent government regulatory issues affecting wealth and asset management. The program skill level for this seminar is rated Intermediate. Prerequisites: This program is rated Intermediate because of the educational and/or experience requirements as follows: Attendee should be a Certified professional; or Attendees should have at least one year of general trust or fiduciary work experience in the fields of personal trust, employee benefit trust, audit, compliance, or risk management; or Attendees should have passed a one-week trust school course offered by Cannon Financial Institute or Campbell University, or an equivalent industry program; or Attendee should have attended a previous FIRMA education program. Fees: FIRMA Member $395; Non-Member $550 Seminar Registration Deadline: Friday, August 28, 2015 Lodging: Attendees must make hotel reservations individually.
