He maintains a regional practice that is devoted primarily to litigation of healthcare-related issues. DAVID S. CADE is the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Health Lawyers Association. He previously served for 14-years as Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he supported program policy and developed legal positions to expand health insurance and coverage options for Medicare beneficiaries, as well as established creative solutions to support Medicaid program expansions. GREGG B. EVERETT is of counsel to Gilphin Givhan, PC in Montgomery, Alabama. He previously served as General Counsel and Senior Vice President for the Alabama Hospital Association from ALVA M. LAMBERT has served as Executive Director of the State Health Planning and Development Agency in Montgomery, Alabama since PETER M. LEIBOLD is the Chief Advocacy Officer for Ascension Health. In this role, Mr. Leibold works closely with executive leadership, advocacy and government affairs leaders across the Health Ministries of Ascension Health. Prior to joining Ascension Health, Mr. Leibold served for fifteen years as the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). J. ANTHONY MCLAIN. is the General Counsel of the Alabama State Bar and has held the position for the last 20 years. He previously served as an Assistant Attorney General for Alabama and was in private practice. PATRICIA SCHULTHEISS is an attorney advisor in the Office of Policy Planning of the Federal Trade Commission. She previously was the Director of Policy and In-house Counsel at the American Pharmacists Association and before that in the FTC s Bureau of Consumer Protection. LYNN SESSIONS focuses her practice on healthcare operations and regulatory work, with an emphasis on healthcare privacy and data security, breach response, and HIPAA compliance. Having previously served as in-house counsel and director of several departments at a nationally ranked children s hospital, Ms. Sessions collaborates closely with healthcare clients and approaches her legal representation from a client s perspective.
