While truly configurable to any given business s unique requirements, Debt Manager solution is configurable and flexible enough to meet the needs of any size client, from smaller to complex and sophisticated. Flexibility and independence One of the key distinguishing characteristics of Debt Manager solution is the high level of flexibility. Its sophisticated database and strategy and process management allows clients to independently change the software configuration and system parameters without reliance on external or internal IT programming resources. Clients can easily set up sophisticated strategy and automated processing rules, as well as data management and reporting functionality during the initial implementation and on an ongoing basis as business needs change. This safeguards clients against changing requirements and emerging best practice evolutions, and allows sophisticated deployment of champion/challenger strategy management techniques. A customer-centric approach Debt Manager solution s truly customer-centric receivables management capability enables the identification, segmentation, prioritisation and management of risk at the customer level as well as at the product or account level. This capability permits clients managing multiple product portfolios to optimise loss mitigation and operating cost performance through management of risk at the customer level. Target and optimal business environments Debt Manager solution is proven and highly regarded by full service retail banks, credit card issuers, centralised credit grantors, finance houses, auto finance grantors, larger debt collection agencies, utilities and telecommunications organisations. It is particularly attractive to organisations with multiple product portfolios, or those that have or wish to adopt a customer or relationship-based approach to risk management. Our clients enjoy optimum return on investment from reduced losses, as well as cost effectiveness. Debt Manager solution has also been specifically designed for organisations that operate collateralbased accounts such as auto-finance grantors, mortgage loan grantors and full service retail banks. It is suited for use at any stage of the receivables management lifecycle, including collections and/or recovery processes, agency and third-party management, asset possession, management or disposal and also debt sale. Debt Manager solution is scalable to manage many millions of accounts with many thousands of concurrent users, operating either as a single unit or across multiple sites. Debt manager is targeted toward any enterprise that requires high levels of flexibility and features along with the capability to deploy highly sophisticated risk management strategies and automated processes. 2006 Fair Isaac Corporation. Key features and functionality Debt Manager solution enables the specific definition of an organisation s entire receivables management function from early collections through to recoveries, agency placement, litigation, bankruptcy, asset repossession, management and disposal or sale. The application has been designed and developed as a highly configurable tool-kit of feature-rich, functional components in conjunction with a specially designed relational database structure. This enables clients to define, implement, and modify a receivables management solution that meets their exact needs. Routers may use any combination of data to assess and segment risk, and prioritise and automatically process work. Although Debt Manager solution is delivered as a single entity, clients may initially deploy it within any specific area of their receivables management organisation, and then extend into other areas to deliver true end-to-end receivables management with optimum efficiency, effectiveness, and real bottom-line impact. For example, many clients initially deploy Debt Manager solution in collections and then extend it into recoveries (including bankruptcy, asset management/disposal). Below is a diagram of Debt Manager solution and how it integrates with other solutions: The Debt Manager solution database design is the result of analysis of the receivables management requirements of some of the top collections organisations. Its modular, relational database technology results in data entities, structures and relationships that reflect and support the requirements of any receivables management organisation. The design allows any data, in any data field, in any data entity to be used to: Define strategy or processing rules Create reports Create extracts out of the application for document generation or transfer to third-party and other applications This modular design makes it the most powerful and sophisticated receivables management application available on the market today. 2006 Fair Isaac Corporation. The intelligent design of Debt Manager solution makes it capable of supporting any receivables management strategy or cost-effective automated process that a client organisation wishes to deploy now or in the future. It is this sophisticated and unique design that enables a truly customercentric approach to the identification, segmentation, prioritisation and management of risk within a multiple product organisation. Strategy management and automated decisioning/processing The Debt Manager solution s own rule-based strategy management component, known as Routers, provides an extremely powerful and flexible tool for the creation and deployment of sophisticated and functional business logic and strategies. Routers may use any combination of data to assess and segment risk and prioritise and automatically process work. This cost-effective automated decisioning and processing allows the creation and deployment of highly sophisticated strategies. Multiple Router Cases provide a means whereby an account can be advanced down any number of concurrent workflow strategies and queued to multiple individuals simultaneously. Daytime Services With Debt Manager solution v6.0, Daytime Services have been introduced to allow the execution of functions that have traditionally been performed in the nightly batch. This includes New Account Load, Financial Transaction Posting, Account Updates, Routers and Work Queue Build. With Daytime Services, accounts can be loaded during the on-line day, processed through Routers, queued, worked by the collector, processed by Routers again and re-queued to a different collector. Performance tracking Debt Manager solution s highly functional champion/challenger design enables receivables management performance tracking at many levels including the client organisation level, account level, product level and strategy level. Any number of varying strategies may be deployed at any one time and performance comparisons of these outcomes can be made. In addition, individual user or team performance analysis may be conducted to determine performance against targets or identification of best practice or training needs. On-line performance statistics are available to both users and management. Fully integrated activity-based costing Complementary to strategy management and tracking, Debt Manager solution s fully integrated activity-based costing functionality enables the tracking of fees, costs and charges at the client organisation level, account level, product level and strategy level. The cost per dollar collected/recovered may be determined and used to develop increasingly cost-effective strategies and processes. 2006 Fair Isaac Corporation. All rights reserved. 5

Ease-of-use features Role-based collector screens and functionality Each user of the system is assigned one or more client-defined role(s). This role-based screen design allows clients to uniquely configure what information is presented to users at the desktop level and what functionality (such as entering promises to pay, invoking document production, and recording account history) is available. SCREEN EXAMPLE ONE ACCOUNT ENQUIRY The intelligent design of the Debt Manager solution and database allows clients to define and create reports to their specific requirements 2006 Fair Isaac Corporation. Sophisticated work queue management Debt Manager solution s sophisticated work queue management functionality enables clients to define organisational structure and hierarchy within the application to support their business requirements. Work may be directed to dialler queues or collectors based upon any data in the database, for example, by account balance, product, receivables amount, risk score, customer location or status, or any combination of these. Work on queues may be dynamically reassigned or referred to other authorised collectors. SCREEN EXAMPLE TWO WORK QUEUE Document production Because of its open relational database, Debt Manager solution is able to provide data from any data field in the database, or combination of data, to be incorporated into documents, forms or letter sets created on the client s word processing or document application. Details of the document may be automatically recorded for each customer account. Reporting The intelligent design of the Debt Manager system and database allows clients to define and create reports to their specific requirements. These reports may call upon data in any data field or combination of data and may be downloaded to a range of reporting and presentation tools. 2006 Fair Isaac Corporation. All rights reserved. 7

Customer and/or account history and notes These are managed by Router Accounts. Router Accounts represent the current situation of the debt, whereby that debt may involve several Debt Items (for example, credit card, loan and mortgage) and may include several Names (for example, joint accounts). Debt Manger Router Account and Name Diaries enable comprehensive notes to be made detailing customer contact and relevant actions taken. The Router Account Diary stores all information regarding Automatic Diary Entries generated. In addition, collector notes may be added as manual diary entries. Personal information regarding the customer may be added to the Name Diary. This may include details of letters from the employer or telephone conversations with the family solicitor, for example, but would also include references to name and address changes. Special Features Instalment or promise-to-pay monitoring Debt Manager solution offers highly sophisticated functionality for the creation and automatic monitoring of instalment plans or promises to pay, including staggered plans, date and value tolerances, automatic follow up, and others. SCREEN EXAMPLE FOUR INSTALMENT PLANS Multi-language and multiple currency capability Debt Manager solution is developed within a modern case tool environment that enables the generation of the application in many different languages (including the Double Byte Character Set) from the same copy of the application. This makes it ideal for organisations with multi-site regional language requirements. Similarly, Debt Manager solution has been designed and developed to manage any number of portfolios in different currencies. Interfaces to host and third-party applications Debt Manager solution is delivered with a highly configurable data reception and validation suite that allows the import and validation of extensive data elements from host and third-party applications. Client-definable and maintainable rules enable automatic validation and acceptance of new inbound accounts as well as financial and non-financial updates to existing records. 2006 Fair Isaac Corporation. All rights reserved. 9

Interfaces to predictive diallers, data warehouses, scoring engines, and more may be created and delivered by the simple development of custom interfaces that meet the client s exact requirements. Standard APIs Debt Manager solution v6.0 comes with a standard set of Application Programme Interfaces that provide the client an easy method for integrating with third-party applications. APIs provided include retrieval of Router Account data, adding and maintaining PTP s and Instalment Plans, adding and maintaining notes/history records and progressing accounts through Routers with Exception posting. Agency Management The Debt Manager solution Agency Management System controls the assignment, update and recall of customer accounts that your organisation has placed with external collections agencies. Debt Manager solution assigns accounts to external collections agencies either manually using the collections screens or via automated workflow processing rules. Once it associates the accounts with the external third-party, Agency Management creates an output file of pertinent account data to transmit to the external agent. As account information changes in Debt Manager solution during the course of the collections effort, Debt Manager solution captures the changes and transmits them to the agencies. The collections agent will generate notes, payments, and change information on debtors names and address for uploading to Debt Manager solution. Agency Management includes account detail, agency performance, and system processing reports to assist in managing collections agents. The system writes the input and output in industry standard interface files, making them compatible with other Fair Isaac solutions or external third-party suppliers. 2006 Fair Isaac Corporation. All rights reserved. 10

Extendable Data Storage Debt Manager solution stores its data in a format that allows near limitless storage and manipulation of client data. This database flexibility allows for increasing levels of data to be held and used without database upgrades or reconfiguration as clients needs become increasingly sophisticated over time. RouteMaster The workflow/routers in Debt Manager solution can be defined using Debt Manager solution s RouteMaster feature RouteMaster allows the selection of a particular router, re-modelling of the process and definition of underlying parameters. An example of RouteMaster is shown below: The Router is viewed as a tree structure, in which the sequence of the workflow process is viewed from top downwards. The user can define the individual processing elements to make up router paths from pre-defined configurable actions. RouteMaster maintains an audit log of all amendments and allows you to validate your new path definitions for contention. Technical specifications and requirements Debt Manager solution is available as a n tier client/server application. It is also available over the web for Windows XP desktop client.
