Travel to London and participate in this international science event. Start your journey as promising scientists on a discovery programme to take a look behind the scenes of some of Europe s most exciting cities and scientific centres. Successful completion of the programme is rewarded by certificate, but this only goes a little way to detail the experience you will have had. Itinerary Day 1 Arrival in London Welcome to London! Meet your tour manager and start with an introduction to your 14 day Science programme. London Sightseeing Depending on arrival time, discover London and see some of London's most iconic landmarks including the royal palaces, the lions in Trafalgar Square, Tower Bridge and the most famous clock in the world, Big Ben. Programme Introduction Introduction and welcome to the Foundation Science programme detailing what you can expect to achieve in the next 13 days. Day 2 LIYSF Opening Ceremony & Principle Lecture Attend the Opening Ceremony of the 57th London International Youth Science Forum and see the Keynote Principal Lecture. Blue Badge Guide of London A Blue Badge Guide - an expert on England's capital, will guide you through London's many world famous sites, attractions and buildings. Day 3 Interactive Activity visit to the Science Museum Take part in the interactive Science Museum object hunt and quiz whilst exploring the historic collections, awe-inspiring galleries and inspirational exhibitions. Specialist Science Lecture Attend an LIYSF lecture given by a top academic speaking at LIYSF 2015 at Imperial College London. 2

Day 4 Science Presentation Workshop Learn the skills to present scientific research, for both poster presentation or short TED/FameLab style presentation. EDF Energy London Eye Glide through the London sky on the EDF Energy London Eye as you take in the views of the city. LIYSF Student Topics Presentation Attend the LIYSF Student Topics Presentation evening and see 10 international science students present their research to a large audience in short FameLab style presentations. Day 5 Forensic Science Workshop Bringing 21st Century Forensic Science workshop, including activities, such as fingerprinting using magnetic powder and black ink, taking footprints and castings and the analysis of hair and fibres. Learn all the forensic techniques and report your findings on an incident report. Natural History Museum Explore the wonders at the Natural History Museum, full of hundreds of exciting interactive exhibits. Day 6 Culham Centre for Fusion Energy Meet the experts at The UK's centre for magnetic confinement fusion research and the home of the major European fusion experiment JET. It has a high technology incubator, Culham Innovation Centre and an technology transfer programme. Visit Oxford University Visit to Oxford and step inside a famous Oxford University College. 3

Day 7 Educational Workshop at London Zoo Take part in special learning sessions at the London Zoo. Explore animal objects and live animals to discover similarities and differences between the animal groups. Discover some weird and wonderful adaptations as you investigate the physical and behavioural features that help animals survive. Orientation of London s West End See a theatre production in the world famous London West End. Day 8 National Oceanography Centre Be a Marine Biologist for the day at the National Oceanographic Centre and the University of Southampton. Explore the mysteries of the ocean as part of the research crew. Study live creatures in the on-board wet lab Get your hands dirty as you study pieces of the ocean floor. Discuss your findings with experts in a dedicated workshop. Day 9 Lille Join a Eurostar train service for your journey to France. Enjoy a packed lunch en-route to France. Discover the city of Lille with your DM. You will see the Grand Place, the old city, the Town Hall and its belfry, the Fine Arts Museum and much more! Space Camp Introduction to Space Camp at the Euro Space Center. Day 10 Euro Space Center Be an Astronaut for the Day â Introduction to the Space Camp! Complete Space training activities. Test your skills on space simulators. Participate in workshops. Completion of training and certificate. 4

Day 11 Paris Enjoy a packed lunch en-route to France. Paris orientation taking in all the major landmarks, including Opera, Concorde, Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Trocadero, Bastille square and modern opera house, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Luxembourg gardens, Louvre and Saint-Germain des Pres. Look down on the City of Light from the top of the Eiffel Tower. Day 12 Cite des Sciences Guided visit to the largest museum dedicated to Science in France the Cite des Science Paris. The Louvre Visit the world famous art museum, The Louvre and see the Mona Lisa possibly the most famous piece of art in the world. Day 13 Paris Continue the orientation tour in Paris, taking photo of the sightseeing attractions that missed International Showcase Evening Showcase evening to share talents and customs from your home country with your fellow international students. Day 13 Departure Day 5
