Emergency Action Plans (EAP) Cheel Arena Emergency Action Plan Emergency Personnel: Certified Athletic Trainer, team physicians and Ambulance services will be on site for men s hockey games. Certified Athletic Trainer will be on site for all women s hockey games and men s and women s hockey practices. Emergency Communication: Certified Athletic Trainer may carry a cell phone for emergency use. Fixed phone line located in hockey athletic training room, coach s office, arena office, Zamboni area and equipment room. Do not use a landline during thunderstorms, instead revert to cell phones. Emergency Equipment: Athletic training kit located in Athletic Training room and on bench during competitions and practices. AED located in arena office (beside ticket booth). Role of First Responders: 1. Immediate care of injured athlete. 2. Activation of EMS a. Call 911; 9 911 (from a campus phone). b. Caller will provide pertinent information (name and location of injured athlete, what happened, how many people have been injured, nature of the injury, what aid is being provided, cell phone number) to 911 personnel. 3. Emergency equipment retrieval. 4. Direction of EMS to scene.

a. Designate an individual to wait for EMS, access to ice surface and athletic training room is through the loading dock, rear entrance of Cheel Arena. b. Designate an individual to limit scene to first aid providers and move bystanders away from area. Directions to arena: 8 Clarkson Avenue, Potsdam, NY 13699. From US 11, enter main gates to Clarkson University. Follow Clarkson Avenue to second driveway on right. Cheel Arena is located at end of parking lot. Follow road to loading dock at rear entrance of building. Directions to Canton Potsdam Hospital: 50 Leroy St. Potsdam, NY 13676. Start out going north on Clarkson Avenue/CR 59 toward Maple Street. Clarkson Avenue/CR 59 becomes RT 345/Pine Street. Turn Right onto US 11/ Sandstone Drive. Turn Left onto RT 56/ Market Street. Turn Right onto Cottage Street. Turn Left onto Leroy Street. Hospital is on Left.

Certified Athletic Trainer or student trainer will be in Alumni Gym Athletic Training room for all practices. Emergency Communication: Certified Athletic Trainer may carry a cell phone for emergency use. Fixed phone line located in Athletic Training room office. Do not use a landline during thunderstorms, instead revert to cell phones. Emergency Equipment: Athletic training kit located in Athletic Training room and on sideline during competitions. AED and splints located in Alumni Gym Athletic Training room. Role of First Responders: 1. Immediate care of injured athlete 2. Activation of EMS a. Call 911; 9 911 (from a campus phone). b. Hantz Turf Field Emergency Action Plan Emergency Personnel: Certified Athletic Trainer will be on site for all home lacrosse and soccer. Certified Athletic Trainer or student trainer will be on field for all practices. Emergency Communication: Certified Athletic Trainer must carry a cell phone for emergency use. Emergency Equipment: Athletic training kit located in Athletic Training room and on sideline during competitions. AED and splints located in Walker Arena Athletic Training room. Role of First Responders: 1. Immediate care of injured athlete. 2. Activation of EMS a. Call 911; 9 911 (from a campus phone). b. Caller will provide pertinent information (name and location of injured athlete, what happened, how many people have been injured, nature of the injury, what aid is being provided, cell phone number) to 911 personnel. 3. Walker Arena and Hantz Turf Field are on left. Directions to Canton Potsdam Hospital: 50 Leroy St. Potsdam, NY 13676. Start out going north on Clarkson Avenue/CR 59 toward Maple Street. Clarkson Avenue/CR 59 becomes RT 345/Pine Street. Turn Right onto US 11/ Sandstone Drive. Turn Left onto RT 56/ Market Street. Turn Right onto Cottage Street. Turn Left onto Leroy Street. Hospital is on Left.

Emergency Equipment: Athletic training kit will be in field during competitions and practices. AED and splints located will be on field for all games. Role of First Responders: 1. Immediate care of injured athlete. 2. Activation of EMS a. Call 911; 9 911 (from a campus phone).26 b. Caller will provide pertinent information (name and location of injured athlete, what happened, how many people have been injured, nature of the injury, what aid is being provided, cell phone number) to 911 personnel. 3.
