2 Directions and Guidelines We are pleased that you have chosen to become a candidate for undergraduate admission to Clarkson University. We are confident that Clarkson will offer you opportunities to expand your own unique talents and potential and provide you with an outstanding educational experience. Completing your Application for Admission When completing your Application for Admission, follow the guidelines carefully and provide complete and accurate information. It is your responsibility to ensure that all required application materials are provided to the Office of Transfer and International Admission. In submitting your application you may either forward your application and a $50 application fee first, and then have all other appropriate information follow separately; or, submit all supporting documents along with your application, which is the preferred method. Your secondary school counselor or college advisor must complete the recommendation form. Other recommendations may come from other individuals who can comment on your character, skills and initiative. You may also complete the application for admission on-line at our website: Application Requirements All submitted applications must include the following to be considered complete: Clarkson application for admission or Common Application. Official secondary school transcript or mark sheets with English translation if necessary. Include a school profile, if available. In order to be official, transcripts and mark sheets must arrive in an envelope that has been sealed and stamped by your school. Two Letters of Recommendation Official SAT Reasoning Test or ACT score report Official TOEFL or IELTS score report Certificate of Finance Form (enclosed) along with supporting letters of sponsorship and bank documents. Personal Statement Your Application for Admission must include a brief Personal Statement ( words) describing a special interest, experience or achievement that is important and meaningful to you. Pre-Physical Therapy applicants must submit an additional essay that demonstrates social or health-related awareness appropriate for an individual interested in entering a health profession. When appropriate, reflection upon personal experiences with or exposure to a rehabilitation profession is desirable. Applications for Pre-Physical Therapy that do not include this essay will not be reviewed. Nonrefundable application fee of $50 Please submit the fee in the form of a check or money order from a US bank or US banking affiliate payable to Clarkson University. The $50 application fee is waived for all on-line applicants or for those students who participate in an on- or off-campus interview with a Clarkson admission representative. Applying under the Early Decision Plan Early Decision is an option for students who, after careful consideration, are certain that Clarkson is their number one college choice. The plan does not prohibit the student from submitting applications to other schools, but it does commit the student to withdraw other applications if the student is admitted to Clarkson. Early Decision candidates are strongly encouraged to visit the campus and meet with our students, faculty and staff. There are two early decision deadlines. The Early Decision I deadline is December 1 of the senior year. The secondary school record through grade 11, with SAT or ACT scores, TOEFL or IELTS scores, and recommendations, should be received no later than December 15. If November SAT scores are sent directly to Clarkson, they will be included in the Early Decision review. Admission notification will occur by January 1. The Early Decision II deadline is January 15 of the senior year. Application materials should be received no later than February 1. Notification of admission is made by February 1. Candidates are strongly encouraged to discuss their plans with their college counselor prior to submitting an Early Decision Application. Financial Assistance All accepted international students will be considered for a partial international scholarship based on their academic record. No separate financial aid application is required. Scholarships range from $2,000-$12,000/year. Loans of up to our cost of attendance are available with either a US citizen or permanent resident as a co-signer. Limited student worker positions are available on campus.
