The History Department has two awards available for History majors and minors. The first, the Brommel-Lindberg Scholarship in History, provides one junior or senior the sum of $1,100 for tuition and fees at Northeastern in the 2014-2015 academic year. The Susan E. Rosa Memorial Award for Graduate Studies provides $1000 for a history major or minor who intends to pursue a Ph.D. in humanities or social sciences. Applications for both scholarships are due April 1 st, 2014 at 5:00pm. Scroll down for more information and applications for each scholarship. Rosa Memorial Scholarship. The award will honor a History major/minor who is promising in the field and who intends to pursue a Ph.D. in the Humanities or Social Sciences. Announcements and Procedures: This is the first formal announcement of the 2014 award of the Susan E. Rosa Memorial Scholarship. Applicants for the scholarship should maintain correspondence with the History department chair regarding graduate schools timetables and decisions. Application Deadline: April 1 st, 2014 5:00pm The department s scholarship committee will meet in April to consider applications. The award will be contingent on acceptance to a PhD program [if the awardee is not admitted, the scholarship committee may decide to award the scholarship to another applicant, or not award it for the year.] The recipient will be announced at the conclusion of the Spring semester.
